Mandarin oranges
Cookies and mandarin oranges are exchanged as gifts with family and friends throughout the 15 days of the Chinese Lunar Year, kinda like gifting during Christmas.

ReplyDeleteDearest Victoria,
ReplyDeleteHah, you have been very close to my birth area as Brussels is only about two hours driving, south of the Province of Limburg in The Netherlands.
Oh the food, just ate my supper as otherwise you would have made me really long for it; rindu sekali terus!
Love the Mandarin orange's meaning.
We eat them daily and love them; dark chocolate too...
Hugs,
Mariette
Me dio ganas de tofu. lindas flores, y Hermoso parque temático. No sabía lo de las mandarinas. Te mando un beso
ReplyDeleteThose are great oranges. And the food looked good, too.
ReplyDeleteI love your various photographs. Especially the Atomonium (hope I got it right). Years ago, I was sent on a mission to Amarillo, Texas to testify at a Texas Railroad Commission hearing on something really boring. More interesting to me was my hobby geocaching and so I found a cache at a memorial to the Helium atom, which looks similar, to your photo, but I didn't tag it correctly, so somewhere in the 80,000 photos of my archive is a badly tagged photo I tried to find.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I didn't testify, when I got back to Tulsa my boss asked how it went, and I said that I got there too late. True confessions.
Happy New Year Veronica and family! That Yong Tau Foo looks really tasty! We just started having a little tofu in a salad from one of the fast food restaurants here and wanted to branch out on cooking it. I don't think we are ready for something like this, but it sure looks very good!
ReplyDeleteI like those sculpture pictures! So cool looking!
betty
I'm captivated by the sculpture and its waves.. I like how it appears throughout your mix of photos.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! Have a nice day! :)
ReplyDeleteOf course, your collection of photos showing food is always wonderful, Veronica Lee, bit the golden shrimp flower was my favorite this time. Those theme park sculptures did look intimidating and perhaps children would think so too.
ReplyDeleteHappy new year:) have a lovely day...
ReplyDeleteIt's always fun to go through your collage of pictures and find interesting things. I have very fond memories of spending Lunar New Year in Vietnam a few years ago. It was great fun to be there for the celebrations,

Happy Lunar New Year, Veronica. What a delicious assortment of dishes you've shown us today. Yum!
ReplyDeleteWhen I lived in South America I had a Princess plan - seeing your beautiful flowers reminded me of that time.
Your collections always make me wish I could visit your country. As always to eat some of the wonderful dishes you show, but also today, the flowers. Thanks!!!
ReplyDeleteI have been trying to understand the Golden Shrimp plant. I came to the conclusion that it is so called because its shape is a little like a shrimp? Unless it’s a culinary herb to impart a fishy flavour? Those snake beans look as though I might enjoy them, a little like our runner beans. I’m a great lover of oranges and although they don’t grow here in England this is a good time of year to see lots of Spanish Valencia oranges in the shops.
ReplyDeleteNice photos
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the sculpture, very unusual but I think I'm going to try and make that mango salad, looks scrumptious.
ReplyDeleteHa! I thought, Brussels?! And I was right. Never saw it for real, must be impressive. And the sculptures are beautiful, too and ohhh, all the yummy food!
ReplyDeleteAnd the oranges. Fun to see.

PS: I've never been to Brussels, although it's closer for me than for you ;-)
Thanks so much for sharing the link to that Thai mango salad. Oh, my stars, that looks so good. Would probably have to add some chicken for my meat-loving husband and then we could call it dinner.
ReplyDeleteThe sculptures at the theme park are so fun. I thought they were carved from trees? Is that correct? I guess not after looking again.
Always interesting to see food that I don't recognize or eat. Everything looks delicious. Fun to learn about the oranges for New Years.
I never seen Golden shrimp plant..,... beautiful
