gallimaufry
/ˌɡalɪˈmɔːfri/
noun
- a confused jumble or medley of things.
And that is exactly what you'll find here — a gallimaufry of unused photos from my phone.
A bird I spotted in my garden |
Soft shell crab sushi |
Pink Mexican petunia |
A stray kitty |
Sunset from my balcony |
A stall selling steamed peanuts |
Choy Sum — literally translates as "heart of the vegetable" |
A bug with big ass feelers. Eeeek! |
Allamanda |
Unused photos in your phone make good blog fodder when you are under another lockdown and can't go out and about.
They are all so beautiful - well except for the bug lol!
ReplyDeleteThe photos are beautiful (I didn't see the bug). 😊
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful cat she could become!
The white dove came to proclaim peace and harmony.
The sunset is beautiful!
Happy Thursday, Veronica!
Lovely series of nature photos ~ Xo to the stray kitty ~

Love the Mexican petunia!
ReplyDeleteGood luck for the lockdown.
It's a nice mix, dear Veronica! Only the "bug with big ass feelers" was unpleasant ;-) Oh, and why are there cigarette filters on the ground in your garden (next to the white pigeon)? They're dangerous - they're made of plastic (cellulose acetate) and many toxins that poison the earth and groundwater. (According to the WHO, they contain up to 7,000 different chemicals, many of which are toxic to the environment and at least 50 are carcinogenic.) Animals can mistake cigarette butts for food and die on it ... I hope you can remove the butts and won't find any more in the future in your garden! And I hope your lockdown doesn't last too long and that the contagion numbers will drop again soon!

I like your assortment of pictures Veronica. The flowers are so pretty! I wouldn't want to see that bug in person lol. Sorry you guys are locked down again. Here it seems like life is returning to normal. Even heard in the fall our local college will have 100% occupancy for watching sporting events.
ReplyDeleteHang in there!

That sushi looks so good. As soon as our local sushi restaurant reopens after COVID lockdown we will be there!
ReplyDeletethese were welcome sights for my eyes, each one for a different reason
ReplyDeleteNice series of photos. The sunset and view are stunning! Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteA very nice selection. The cat looks friendly despite being a stray but that big bug doesn't.
ReplyDeleteThose are terrific photos! Love the bird, the kitty and the sushi best though!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful gallimaufry! My picks are the sky and lotus root. All pictures are well shot!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great sunset (orange and blue colors)! You are so lucky to enjoy such a beautiful landscape, Veronica.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice Sunday!
Hello Veronica Lee,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful bird! I love the cute kitty and the beautiful flowers.
Gorgeous sunset and sky photo. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Sunday, have a great new week! PS, thank you for the comment on my blog.
Great photos!
ReplyDeleteI like your 'gallimaufry' of photos very much! And thank you for that new word. I enjoy learning new ones :)
ReplyDeleteThe album of unused photos is beautiful. All are successful, including the beetle. I like Alamanda the most. Superb flowers!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day, Veronica!
Love the word gallimaufry, a new one for me! But you are welcome to keep that bug - EEEK is right!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up at https://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2021/06/woodpeckers-visit.html
what is the name of the bush with yellow flowers in last 2 photos? Beauties
ReplyDeleteThat sunset is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteBut eek that bug!
Now I know a new word. Quite a mouthful it is.
Such a majestic sky!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful collection. Thank you. I hope your lockdown can be safely lifted. Soon.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos and interesting especially the the Lotus Root :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a blookingtastic week 👍
Great photos. I always enjoy these posts because I like seeing what random things other people take pics of. Hope you are coping with the lockdown okay.
ReplyDeleteSuper interesting insect, and that cat looks almost worn out by life. Steamed peanuts? Are those like roasted peanuts? I tried boiled peanuts once, as they seem to be popular in the south for reasons that escape me. Mine landed in the bottom of a garbage can after I tasted on :) Love all your phone photos.
ReplyDeleteThat sunset you captured is beautiful and so are the flowers.
ReplyDeleteI really like the 6th picture. Fantastic skies and brilliant view. Good for you!
ReplyDeleteThat sky looks like a silk painting. Have a good week, even if you are in lockdown.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great word, I'll try to memorize it, I'm sure that it will come in useful. And great photos to go with it.

Lots of wonderful and beautiful shots from your phone. Well done.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday, Veronica. ♥
All so lovely!
ReplyDeleteI believe the bird in the garden has been smoking.
ReplyDeleteLovely these photos with random subjects.
ReplyDeleteEach means a story!
Thank you, Veronica! Happy WW!
I think I prefer "miscellaneous". It's easier to remember. And no surprises Veronica, I do rather like the bug but am also very intrigued by steamed peanuts.
ReplyDeleteThey are all lovely photos. The sunset is beautiful and the stray kitty looks sweet. The bug made me shiver!
ReplyDeleteSo lovely except, of course, the creepy bug. So many bugs in the warmer months.
ReplyDeleteThe photos are just excellent. I am not a fan of bugs, they seem to be everywhere when the weather is so warm.
ReplyDeleteTerrific shots! You do get photos of interesting things!
ReplyDeleteI never see anything that exciting on my phone. (Right now it has at least 6 shots of my finger).
Beautiful blooms. And the kitty is beautiful, but it makes me sad he or she is a stray.
ReplyDeleteWow, there's a word for that, too! The things I learn!
ReplyDeleteLoving the photos. I've seen a bug like that in my garden and found it was a 'Texas longhorn beetle' variety.
I'm happy you chose to share your link at 'My Corner of the World' this week!
Wow! Such contrasting mix of images. Tells a different story.. Loved these random shots.
ReplyDeleteHaven't we all got a gallimaufry of photos - love this word thank you for introducing it to me. Your photos are lovely and even the big bug has massive feelers so I'm content he might get out of my way!
ReplyDeleteWren x
your photos look lovely indeed, Veronica! That sunset from you balcony really steal my attention!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. I think I am going to post something similar. Thanks for inspiring me as to what can be done with all my unused photos that I had meant to use at one time or another but never got arund to.
