Gallimaufry#3

Just a bunch of random photos on my Huawei ...

Frangipani

Back in 2014, Malaysia saw an invasion of these giant moths.
A friendly bigass moth landed on my back!

The Lyssa Zampa tropical moth aka Laos brown butterfly has a wingspan of about 6 inches!

The BBC reported  that thousands of these gargantuan creatures have swarmed cities in Malaysia, and even disrupted a national football match!

Skywatch from my balcony

Malaysian street food —  rice noodle roll

A batter of rice flour is steamed over a piece of cloth. When the noodle sheet sets, it is peeled off the cloth and rolled with a filling of minced prawn and roast pork. The noodle roll is then sliced and topped with a sweetened soy sauce, fried shallots, sesame seeds and chili oil.

Palm berries

My go-to snack
Poppadam — Indian flatbread

The hubs had his first shot. I have not been called up yet.

Ferrero Rocher ice-cream cake for my son's last day of work from his co-workers

The Frangipani are so beautiful. The moths! Eeek! We had an issue with giant monarch butterflies several years ago, there were so many they were clogging the engines on planes! I love butterflies but we'd drive down the road and they would be all over our car, it was sad. I invite you to stop by and share your post at the TFT blog hop Hugs!

Dear Veronica,
some of your pictures whet my appetite -
some astonish me. I have never seen butterflies like this, nor have I heard of this "invasion". Fascinating!
All the best from Austria,

Wow, so much fun and yummy stuff ... rice noodle roll had me until the Chili oil ... I suspect that is mighty hot and I can take hot, but not mighty hot :)
Your balcony view is dazzling and I couldn't agree more ... it is surely a Bigass moth. Can't even imagine ... and this is supposed to be miniature week, but your moth takes 1st place as far as I am concerned. Glad you decided to join us at Rain's ... we have fun and I hope you will come again and again.

Wish I had tasted some good chee cheong fun when I was in Penang and KL in Jan last year. Our party all got sick and did not have appetites for anything. As a result, we all came home losing 5-10 lbs, believe it or not!
