Annie Peaker

Inspired by her love for African culture, UK ceramicist Annie Peaker captures the beauty of African women in ceramic sculptures.

Some of her figures are slightly elongated to emphasise the grace and elegance of the African female form.

    Lovely. You can really appreciate the details..especially the folds in the fabric. I love how the people are elongated and exaggerated, but the animals and other items are perfect. Very lovely indeed.

    These sculptures are so pretty! I love the tall slim ones and the short, wider ones too - people come in all shapes and sizes! :)

    I LOVE these! the fat mamas are so real, the tall beauties are so graceful. I laughed at the ones with fish balanced on their heads. Really nice.

    These sculptures are gorgeous. They remind me of a piece that I saw years ago in a little shop in Saugatuck, MI. It was a terracotta planter with beautiful flowers in in the form of long necked African women with mouths open in song.
    I deeply regret not making that purchase.

    These are lovely, but the full figured women look as if they're on there knees rather than standing, to me.
