DearPhotograph is a site that invites readers to submit a photograph of the present with a juxtaposed picture of the past. The site is only a few weeks old but it has attracted a large following. Love the poignant caption of each photo.
Dear Photograph, We were inseparable for 26 years, till cancer came her way. Can you please give me my sister back?
Dad is gone…but the strength of his arms will always be around us.
Dear Photograph, Those were the days, when Mom would put us in matching clothes.
28 years ago I never realized how much Lakeside would become my rock with all the moving around we did. It will always feel like I’ve come home.
Letting go of my mother’s hand the first day of school was always the hardest.
I hope I’ve made my dad proud.
Please tell Tobby I love him. I’m so sorry I didn’t have the courage to say “goodbye”…
Always in my heart.
The old swing is empty, but this Mama’s heart never is.
Summer days at the bay, there’s nothing like it…I hope my son will keep the family tradition for generations to come. Lindsay
These were your first big steps of many that will be made in your lifetime.

So cute! I'll have to check that out for sure. I'm a new follower from the Saturday hop.ReplyDelete
Those are absolutely amazing when you look at them in succession. Such a cool idea!ReplyDelete
I LOVE this idea! How cool. Yes, they are nostalgic, but then that's what photos always are, right? Neat that with techno help we can catch two different time slots in the same picture. It's sort of like Nat King Cole's daughter singing "with" her dad on new CD's recording her voice over his old songs. Wonderful!!!ReplyDelete
V, these are so beautiful... the captions, the photos, the idea! OMG! I had a good cry... Now I am thinking how i can do the same... I miss my dad so much these days... :(ReplyDelete
This is such a great idea. So poignant! i love all the photographs and the captions that go with them!ReplyDelete
I've heard about that concept, but never seen that site! So cool! I'd try and take one at my old house, but the people who bought it from us compleeeetely changed it. Kinda sad.ReplyDelete
