This is so hauntingly beautiful, I had to share it.
The film, by film-maker Johnny Kelly, depicts the life of a farmer as he slowly turns his family farm into an industrial animal factory before seeing the errors of his ways and opting for a more sustainable future. Both the film and the soundtrack were commissioned by Chipotle to emphasize the importance of developing a sustainable food system.
Beautiful in every sense of the word.
So I guess it all boils down to making a choice of either paying the farmer (for the more expensive naturally-raised meat) or the doctor.
Such an important message!!!! I really really really loved this. Chipotle though? Isn't that owned by McDonald's? Just wondering. Ok, now I'm curious...I'm going to do some research...I'll get back to you. :)

WOW! That is an amazing little film! I heart Chipotle so much I am not a meat eater but my husband is. We only buy from organic/sustainable/local farms for food! You are so right, either pay a little extra for food now or pay the doctor much more after! I am so sharing this! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI love the simplicity of the video to put across a simply splendid message. Thanks for sharing.

What a great video!! I had to share it asap on my FB :) Since we moved to the country I have been teaching the girls about sustainable food and what we do not grow ourselves, we buy from our local dairy or farmers. It's wonderful! Happy Tues sweetie :)

ReplyDeleteSome interesting things to think about..
ReplyDeleteI'm going back to the start! I wish more and more food producers in our world would rethink the way the go about handling our food. I wish we, as consumers, would rethink the way we consume! Very touching movie - and makes me think!
ReplyDeleteI'd rather pay the farmer!
