Venus flytrap
Although the Venus flytrap is a carnivorous plant, it cannot eat the same type of meat as humans. The plant turns black, rots, and dies if it’s fed a fast-food burger.

Why anyone would consider eating a fast food burger is beyond me, let alone feed it to a Venus flytrap.

I think we need the flytrap things here too to keep the flies away from the food for our feral kitties. The photos are all amazing!

Such an interesting post. I love the colorful outfits, and seeing the Venus fly traps at work is fascinating. These are endangered in our area.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing at https://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2023/06/briam-mmmm-good.html

ReplyDeleteThe Venus Flytrap is a formidable plant. A wonderful post as always. I thoroughly enjoyed the traditional clothing, but every photo was delightful. Thank you for sharing :)
ReplyDelete...the clothes for Gawai Dayak are so colorful!
ReplyDeleteInteresting images all!
ReplyDeleteI'm not so sure that fast food does't harm humans as well as venus fly traps - "rots and dies if it’s fed a fast-food burger.", Ha ha. I like those colourful costumes Veronica.
ReplyDeleteThose outfits are outstanding. And how cool to see a Venus Flytrap in person. I've only seen them in cartoons!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos. I especially enjoyed the traditional costumes, so intricate and colorful.

Love the colorful E. Malaysian costumes!
ReplyDeleteI love the costumes. So special colors! The only carnivorous plants I saw in the flower shops are those against mosquitoes.
ReplyDeleteThose are drones I suppose. So many...
Thank you for this new gallimaufry, Veronica!
Happy Today and a fine week!❤️😘
I enjoyed looking at the colors from Borneo and the travel photos from Rotterdam. Thank you also for the fun fact about the Venus flytrap. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the Venus flytrap, shame that the want to feed it to feed it a burger!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe clothing is amazing ..I love the colors. I've always thought I would have loved to live during a time and in a country where the clothes were so beautiful. Instead I was born in Kansas, the midwest...and now wear nothing but jeans and t-shirts in summer and flannel shirts and jeans in winter. I have no style at all lolol..
ReplyDeleteOnce again you've brought us a wonderful collection of pictures and some really interesting facts!
ReplyDeleteDearest Veronica,
ReplyDeleteSlowly I'm getting back to reading (no more dizziness) and more strength for being awake. My weight is only 44.5 kg so I have a long way to recovery...
Big hugs and loved those Borneo images!
Mariette
Beautiful. Wow and you know how much I love your food.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.

Interesting to learn about the diet of the Venus Fly Trap, Veronica Lee, and it appears that the plant has more sense than some humans. Those colorful outfits are beautiful and I wondered how much care they would need for everyday wear. As always, dinner looked so delicious!
ReplyDeleteQuite a variety, food, travel, clothes. I love it all.
ReplyDeleteAmazing photo shoot with lots of different subjects. The plants look bit scary, but might be nice to help eliminate summer pesky insects. Hopefully, the bees stay away from them. Thanks for sharing with me.
ReplyDeleteInteresting facts and images :-)

Interesting tidbit about the Venus flytrap. I never would have thought to try feeding it hamburger, haha. What some people won't think of. I wonder if anyone ever tried putting their finger in to see what would happen.
ReplyDeleteLove all the Borneo outfits, and the kids are so cute.
The mannequins there are interesting. They don't have faces or skin tones like the ones over here do.
