Just a gallimaufry of photos 📸
Batik fans
I spotted these curious tiny flowers (about 1 cm in size) scattered all over the asphalt. I thought they were fake flowers from a broken bracelet or necklace.
A search with Google Lens identified these as Bakul flowers.
Nostalgia
Growing up in the 60s, people rarely ate out and itinerant hawkers pedaled tricycle food carts and roved in neighborhoods, usually around dinner time. Haha! The computer is an anachronism.

Dear Dear Vero,
ReplyDeleteThe Bakul flowers have me intrigued. They are much like the Shiuli/Night Jasmine flowers that grow here. They fall off in the night and actually create a full blown white-orange fragrant carpet. They have orange stems.
Wrote about them here, in case you would like to know more:

All that lip-smacking food is now making me super hungry! And the Batik fans are lovely.
Thanks for swinging by and for the love and good wishes.
Biggest hugs xoxo

ReplyDeleteGreat photos today! You are making me hungry with the curry. :)
ReplyDeleteThose flowers are so pretty and interesting to grow in asphalt!
I must laugh about the "Schweinshaxe" in your Blog. I know this meal, but i prefer the cake from blackforest ;-)
ReplyDeleteGreetings from a rainy Germany

I love schweinshaxe! It's a typical food of South Germany. I had it in Munchen some years ago.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen before such flowers all over the asphalt. They're also so colouful.
Nice post, Veronica!
Nice photos again, my Batik never looked anything like these examples! Schweinehaxe is very popular here in Germany, but I prefer the Schwarzwälder Kuchen! Huga, Valerie

ReplyDeleteHi Veronica,
ReplyDeleteI’m feeling so lucky to have found your blog. You pack a bunch of delightful photos into every post and now I look forward to each “Gallimaufry” … a new word for me and I love it. When we weave a variety of things together in a post, it’s sometimes hard, for me at least, to come up with a good title. Gallimaufry fills the bill! May I steal that for use occasionally? 😊 In this new post I love the Batik fans. And the way you were able to create those cool photos with flowers on the path … just really neat! “Curry Mee” looks interesting … how did you like it? And, OMG, Black Forest Cake. My oh My! 😊 #78 is excellent! And your recent comment on my blog made my day! Thank you Veronica, and take good care! Best regards to you from Seattle!
John
