Just a gallimaufry of photos ...


Wishbone flower
The plant gets its name from the two stamens that grow from the opposite sides of the flower, meeting in the middle to form a structure that resembles a chicken wishbone. 
I snagged the photo below from Google Images. Can you see the wishbone?

  6. I've never seen an instrument like the angklund. How interesting! And I also love that hymn and sing it often in the car when I'm driving.

  18. I've never heard of the 'wish bone' flower. It is lovely! Lovely, too, is being reunited with friends after Covid separated us from the ones we love. Beautiful!

  20. I am a huge tofu fan and try to cook it regularly, my favourite so far has been a ginger and chilli flavoured one I bought last week.

    Most people that never heard such traditional Malay/Indonesian music would be in for a surprise. Also the gamelan orchestra...

  27. I love the brilliant purple color of that flower and the wishbone is easy to see. Never saw this type of flower before. Also the heron. I saw that in Florida once, took a photo and tried to identify it with no luck . Thanks for that!!

  34. Feeling a little guilty because I'm killing a wine bar right this minute as I write! (Husband is cooking dinner today and he just brought me my pre-meal glass!) Fun collection as always, I am so glad you and your friends were *finally* able to get together for a meal out. Whew -- we survived a couple of interesting years didn't we! (fingers crossed for luck....)

  45. So Blackpink made me want to get up and rumba...and the other video - never ever have I heard or seen that instrument. That's amazing to me. Must have felt so good meeting up with friends after such a long time. I guess in our country at least in California - sounds like they are saying our Covid numbers are up. I'm glad i live in a small town and the only thing I do is travel the trails around the lake, lol... Fun post and the food looks delicious.

  52. Stunning photos as always. So glad for your reunion after 2 years of separation due to Covid restrictions. It makes me sad to think of the time we lost with loved ones.

    The music is so unique. I am not familiar with these instruments but what lovely sounds they produce.

    And that food!! So glad I can't gain weight from reading your posts. But sure wish I could enjoy a sampling.
