Wonderful bird pictures! Upon first glance, that first bird looked like it was wearing a witch's hat for Halloween! LOL TFS these, birds are beautiful!
Very interesting Veronica. I knew how Barn Owls are used in the palm oil plantations. I wonder why the others are in captivity like you show. Is it a zoo or a rehab place?
They're surely extraordinary. I got to hold one once years ago, and when it opened its wings I nearly fainted, lolol. Huge wing span and I had no idea at the time. :)
Interesting bird photos. I've always wanted to see the Owl in person, but never have. That's good that the Barn Owl gets rid of the rat population. I do not like them. Looks like one Owl is missing a leg? Or possibly the other one is hiding. Your Owls look a bit different than ours here in California. Thanks for sharing.
Dear Veronica, ghost bird is quite an appropriate name; In any case, they look a bit ghostly, also because they are mostly nocturnal. In any case, I like owls, they are really beautiful and useful birds! Have a nice weekend and all the best Traude https://rostrose.blogspot.com/2022/03/von-fischen-die-tomaton-dungen-von.html
Delightful selection of interesting birds :) I would love to see an owl but it's been a long time since I saw one in the wild. I know they have very good camouflage so perhaps my eyesight would not see them anyway :) Great post and thanks for sharing.
My favorite phone app is my bird app. I can't begin to tell you how much joy it gives me to capture their voices and quickly learn who's singing what song.
Owls are so fascinating. It's always a special day when we can spot one in the wild. I loved your photo of the Spotted Wood Owl. I have never seen one of these before!
I am hoping one day to see an owl in the wild. I have heard that we have owls in our area, but I have never seen one. Your photos are wonderful. Thanks.
Wow, Veronica, these are great bird photos! Did you take them all yourself? Very nicely done!
