Malaysia imposes a fine of RM1000 for not wearing masks in public.
This notice outside a grocery shop made me smile!
Literal translation from Malay
IF YOU DON'T WEAR
YOU DIE
I DIE
EVERYBODY DIE
*Before DIE fined. Gotta pay RM1,000
Herrjeee, the translation is already huge.
ReplyDeleteBut that's the way it is, when you work with the Googel translator, sometimes very strange things come together.
But I smiled and hope that I wrote everything correctly.
Greetings Eva
I am not sure how they could possibly do that in the states where so many people are not wearing masks. We just stay home a lot and avoid people in general.
ReplyDeleteDo you know how much that would be in American dollars Veronica? I know some cities/states have fines for not wearing a mask. We might even LOL here in Phoenix. I think the first thing they do here in Phoenix is give someone a warning about not wearing a mask. Like an educational type thing and then it escalates if people continue to be seen without wearing a mask.

Well, the shop owner certainly makes a point with this sign!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing at http://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2020/08/the-end-of-line.html
if the leaders won't wear masks...i stay home...A LOT

I agree with the shop owner it's selfish not to wear a mask it's usually the it won't happen to me brigade as we call them lol
ReplyDeleteHave a wearamasktastic safe week 😷😷😷
Wearing face flappers is for the little sheeples only is the norm here in the UK.
ReplyDeleteYou die I die - it's so very true
ReplyDeleteVery well put. Stay safe.

It's too bad it takes fines and graphic messages to get some people to wear masks. Our local leaders are too chicken to enforce the mask rule by imposing fines.
ReplyDeleteSo true. The only way we can get through this is with team work.
ReplyDeleteI guess that works if it can be enforced. Here many seem to want the freedom from wearing masks, or I guess the freedom to walk the razor's edge and maybe die in the process.
ReplyDeleteALl that talk about "die" has me laughing. sorry, I can'T take mask wearing seriously, so it's good I don't live where you do. I would be homeless by now, lol! many thanks for this quasi morbid anouncment, Veronica. am glad you are joking again. for a while you were so serious:) Have a great rest of the week, Friend, Jesh
ReplyDeleteLet us all stay safe!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day, Veronica.
...you folks are a lot smarter than most Americans.
ReplyDeleteFear is the key!
ReplyDeleteFunny warning!
ReplyDeleteIn Romania, too, those who do not wear a mask pay the fine.
The equivalent of a fine in euros is between 100 and 500.
Have a nice evening!
Most businesses won't let you in without a mask. We aren't fined here yet, but some places you can be fined.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. ♥
Most people here are wearing masks now in our part of England. It has kept us as one of the lowest places of infection. Some other parts of the UK are not wearing them when they should and are all getting spikes and having localised lock downs.
ReplyDeleteWe need fines here as so many don't wear masks. It is so easy to do , I don't understand the problem.
ReplyDeleteThey let some businesses open and they went crazy. Some got a huge fine like $7,000 & I heard there was a $10G fine, and some just got closed down. You give people an arm they take a lot more than that, so there were even some placed fined and closed down. Sheesh! HOW ARE YOU MY FRIEND? Fine, I hope. Please stay healthy & stay safe! Sending BIG HUGS!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is funny! But I really can't relate as I haven't had to wear one during all this mess.
ReplyDeleteYour link is a wonderful addition to 'My Corner of the World'!! Thanks for being here this week.
I have to wear a mask on the streets and shops otherwise I have to pay 250 Euros ! I don't know the value of your money. Anyway nobody really knows if the mask helps !
ReplyDeleteI believe in wearing mask and social distancing to help curb the spread of the virus.
ReplyDeleteToday we read that thousands of people partied at a water park in Wuhan. Nobody was wearing mask, and they were packed in. What's going on here? Do they know something we don't?
I guess more or less everywhere there is a fine for not wearing a mask. It is so sad that we need policing for things that should come naturally as part of community living, humanity and civic sense.
ReplyDeleteOh boy! That is pretty funny!!
ReplyDeleteHello Veronica,
ReplyDeleteWhat strange words - what a strange time.
