Onde Onde

Q. What is  green and furry and literally bursts in your mouth in a sweet liquid explosion of flavors and textures when you take a bite?

A. Onde-Onde!

My all-time favourite dessert – traditional Nyonya (Malay-Chinese) green-coloured rice cakes filled with liquid palm sugar and coated in grated coconut.

What is your favourite dessert?

  1. It looks delicious though I'm not too much of a coconut fan :) I like chocolate pretty much in any form other than white chocolate :)

  8. I too am not a great fan of coconut. I'm thinking there must be some Malaysian spices in the mix that would let me enjoy Nyonya.

  31. I’d love to try these! I went to our resorts Ladies Luncheon last week and loved trying different desserts! At home, my husband really has to watch his diet, so I don’t bake any more (it’s terrible to get old ;)))! ... So it was fun to have the chance to satisfy my sweet tooth with the ladies.
