It took a pandemic to help me rediscover the joys of home cooking!
I found my zen garden in the kitchen.
Taiwanese Braised Pork Belly |
A recipe to share
There you go — an amazing rice bowl that is topped with aromatic, toothsome, caramelized, melt-in-your-mouth pork morsels and a braised hard-boiled egg!
Enjoy!
Yummy!! I also wonder how many people gained weight during the lock down LOL :)

Looks delicious. We’ve cooked more than we have for years and years and , like you, have also branched out to more new recipes, since we can’t “go out” when we want something different from the usual. It’s actually been fun.
ReplyDeletelooks good. i am a boring eater and i have put on weight because i've reached for my comfort food....m&ms and potato chips. LOL just getting ready to eat breakfast, a bowl of oatmeal and a serving of apple sauce. lol

ReplyDeleteThank you for this recipe. I like experiments in the kitchen.
For example, yesterday I made jam from zucchini. Fun and good! :)
All the best and Happy WW, Veronica!
Oh Veronica, you got me crazy now!!! This is a BIG favorite of mine. Last January on my home from Paris, I had a 7 hour layover in Taipei and the first thing I did is went to the basement foodcourt and got myself a bowl of braised pork with rice! I was the only one on the dine area and I surely was making uhmm sounds with every spoonful HAHA Come on! It was a long flight, that was such a treat! And with that, thank you for this recipe, I can give it a try at home :)
ReplyDeleteSeems delicious!
ReplyDeleteYum! looks tasty. I have gained a few since this lockdown out of boredom.
ReplyDeleteThat looks lovely! I was a chef before retiring, then lost interest in things culinary. But lockdown has reignited my passion for cooking!
ReplyDeleteSo true, but being bored with the lock down, seems I enjoyed too much finding new foods to make. lol
ReplyDeleteIt looks great, but I wonder if I should replace the pork with chicken breast.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the recipe, especially since we have been cooking at home for a long time, we avoid restaurant food or ready-made food from the supermarket.
Have a fine day, dear Veronica!
I hope you'll share this tasty treat at http://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2020/07/the-daylily-garden.html

OMG! Absolutely lip-smacking delightful!
ReplyDeleteI have some pork lying in the freezer. Saving the recipe for the weekend. It's just that the girls are vegan and vegetarian, I try to be too mostly, but I don't mind cheating once in a while.;-)
Think the DH and I will dig this dish big time.
Thanks for sharing dearest Veronica.
Have a scrumptious week ahead!
I am still to try the Sambal recipe. Didn't get the right fish yet.

I suspect that many people, having to cook for themselves during the pandemic, have discovered the joy of cooking once again. For others, however, their diet has involved even more processed, prepackaged food, and what a shame that is.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit and the comment Veronica, much appreciated. Keep well and enjoy the rest of the week. Diane
ReplyDeleteThat looks delicious ! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThat looks really good, Veronica.
