The Buffalo Whisperer

Now these photos are a sight for sore eyes. Instead of teens staring down at their digital devices, here's a shirtless boy having good old-fashioned fun with his BFFs (buffalo best friends).

14-year old Mohd Syukur from Terengganu, Malaysia, has become an internet sensation for his extraordinary bond with the cattle in his family's buffalo enclosure.

His unique interaction with the animals has attracted photographers from all over the world and even bagged an award for a local photographer in an international photography competition.
The winning entry by Mohd Nazri Sulaiman titled "Sharing Emotion"
"I am not proud that I became viral. I am just happy because people used to put my father down for working as a buffalo breeder. But today, I am happy to make my father proud and to be able to change people's perception towards what my father does for a living," he said when interviewed at his home in Kampung Banggol Katong.

  13. Oh wow, I didn't know about this, it's very heartwarming and I'm going to have to learn more about this kid. And yeah, a photo op for sure. I kind of like that photogs are hungry enough for a good shot that they'd seek him out but hope it doesn't interfere with him, his family or the herd.

  14. Veronica,

Amazing. I wouldn't want to be best buds with buffalo, just look at those horns? That's really scary. It wouldn't take a blink of an eye for something to go wrong even accidentally. Where the kid is comfortable I am not but I did enjoy reading his humble appreciation for what dad's livelihood as a cattleman. A lot of kids can learn from this young boy's humbleness where so many acted privileged with spoiled, self-centered attitudes. They have no clue how good they have it. It's really so sad. Thanks for sharing!

  19. Good Morning my friend! Love, love, love your story! It's so pleasant to read about something good/happy instead of borders & people cold & hungry or even street people having no where to go & police being shot & killed. Our world is in turmoil right now that it almost makes me feel the Apocalypse is upon us. When I read THIS story it put a smile on my face & warmed my heart. Thank you my friend. Thank you. This is a most wonderful story & Post! HUGS Have a great day!
