Christmas trees in a mall
From a distance, I thought these were fallen leaves ...
Turned out, they were starfruits!

James Bond Island
The island was chosen as one of the locations for the 1974 James Bond movie The Man with the Golden Gun as the hideout for Bond's antagonist, Francisco Scaramanga.
Ah, Roger Moore — my all-time favourite James Bond actor.
Who is yours?
Hello,
ReplyDeleteLove the beautiful sunflowers. The starfruit is interesting. Happy Birthday to your #2 son. The crab feast looks yummy! I would love to visit Thailand. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, enjoy your day. I wish you a happy week ahead.
What a marvelous Christmas tree!
ReplyDeleteActually, those yellow fruits seem the same fallen leaves as we see in early Autumn. I have heard of melon and grapefruit in December, but not of sunflowers.
Thank you for sharing the video of James Bond island, Veronica :-)
Fascinating series of photos! Love these.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing at http://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2021/12/merry-christmas.html, and I hope you have a wonderful Christmas!
Beautiful collection of photos - I recognized star fruit right away and smiled - tasty. Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI have eaten starfruit here. They taste very nice. The Chrismastree was very beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday, Veronica!
...Veronica, you have so many wonderful Christmas treats. Stay safe and enjoy a Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI am drooling over the food...so GOOD! I miss good old starfruits.
ReplyDeleteYes, Roger Moore was good, but Sean Connery was the very best James Bond.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas - I hope your days are blessed.
Beautiful photos. The food looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed your photos, I am a Sean Connery fan.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. The sunflowers are my favorite flowers in spring I always plant them in our garden.
ReplyDeleteI prefer Sean Connery, when I went to Edinburgh I saw the house where he was born.
Have a good week.
Beautiful photographs and I got stuck on all the food. Yummy and I helped myself to all of is.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day and week, Veronica. ♥
The starfruit is neat...never saw it on the tree! And I love the trees in the mall. What a fun birthday celebration too. Happy holidays!
ReplyDeleteDearest Veronica,
ReplyDeleteMiss the Christmas Season in Singapore, for both of us the BEST memories.
Wow, what a lot of star fruits fallen down...
Cleaning the roof is a risky business but the results looked fantastic!
Sure, Roger Moore was the BEST.
Hugs,
Mariette
Beautiful photos and so colourful and all that lovely food yum :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a tinseltastic Christmas 🎄🎄🎅🎅
Beautiful images Veronica, I love 'em.
ReplyDeleteThat is so neat that you were able to see the island from the actual Bond film. Roger Moore is also my favorite, I love how he is always smiling.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a really big mall! I do like the decorations in it! Yummy with the food for your son's birthday! (happy belated birthday to him). It always makes me nervous to see people working on roofs. I'm afraid they are going to slip off. I'm not super into Bond movies so I asked my hubby who his favorite Bond was and he said Sean Connery :)
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
betty
Bellas fotografías. Adore el árbol de navidad y el postre. Te deseo una feliz navidad y prospero año nuevo para ti y tu familia.
ReplyDeleteApparently there's a mall somewhere with a talking tree. It's computerized, and the head just looks wrong. I prefer your trees.
ReplyDeleteNot much of a Bond fan, so no opinion.
The crab feast looks delicious. Belated Happy Birthday to your son. I like Roger Moore, but I also confess to having a liking for Pierce Brosnan. Merry Christmas, Veronica.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, Veronica, those are HUGE Christmas trees. And how interesting to see all those star fruit on the ground - will animals eat them? I like to think about James Bond actors in the "old days", in which case I would choose Sean Connery, and current day, when I would choose Daniel Craig. Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday!
ReplyDeleteThose are definitely big trees. I'm eyeing up that dessert too but that spot in Thailand is already on my list.
ReplyDeleteOh look at that your James Bond Island pics from 1991 - you should come back I have been living close by in Phuket all year and they say it is like stepping back in time there now!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely festive season!
Wren x
I love your flowers and food photos:) Happy new week:)
ReplyDeleteAs always, I so enjoy your photos from the other side of my world! The food looks amazing, and I just love those Christmas trees at the mall! Love the man on the roof photos too - how interesting! Have a great week ahead!
ReplyDeleteI think I want to sit under the tree and catch the starfruit as they fall. They cost a fortune here!
ReplyDeleteI have a friend who is in Phuket on vacation right now. I loved Roger Moore as James Bond. THe other actors were fine also.
ReplyDeleteI love your mall Christmas Trees, and your star fruit and the food.
Workers on roofs amaze me. Especially that guy, cleaning the roof.
the christmas trees are gorgeous, but the food, oh the food, so yummy. i LOVE the looks of the tea paris brest!!
ReplyDeletei enjoyed seeing james bond island!!
I would like to visit Thailand properly. Our only time was a ferry trip to the south via Langkawi. Happy Christmas Veronica.
ReplyDeleteHello Veronica,
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice pictures. Delicious all the lovely food.
And what a great picture of that high christmas tree.
Greetings, Marco
Tus galimatías son siempre bonitos, divertidos y deliciosos. Las fotos son magníficas.
ReplyDeleteRoger Moore es, por supuesto, mi preferido.
Feliz Navidad!
Oh what a big christmas tree I like it so much!
ReplyDeleteI wish you and your familiy merry Christmas and than a happy new Year!
Greetings
Kirsi
Lots of fun and interesting photos. The starfruit really got me. I've never seen it grow! Best wishes for a Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteWhat great photos! My faves are the Christmas trees and tea in Paris-Brest.
ReplyDeleteI'm embarrassed to admit that I've never seen a James Bond film in its entirely (just clips). It's a major blind spot in my pop culture knowledge. LOL.
I've never seen star fruit growing on a tree. My daughter loves them, they are delicious. Glad you all had a great time celebrating your son's birthday, the food looks great. Have a wonderful holiday season.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to #2 son. All the food looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful array of photographs.
ReplyDeleteI especially liked seeing the sunflowers and Christmas Trees.
All the best Jan
I thought those star fruit were leaves too! What pretty sunflowers.
ReplyDeleteThe food looks so good and I love the Christmas tree;s.
ReplyDeleteAll of those foods look wonderful, let's eat! I don't think I'd like that roof cleaning job. I always liked Roger Moore as Bond too but Sean Connery was right up there.
ReplyDeleteMany new things to me here; starfruits, sunflower and Christmas tree at the same time, dangerous roof cleaning on the wet slippery roof, etc. Happy birthday to your son. Wish you Happy Holiday season.
ReplyDeleteYoko
The Christmas décor looks amazing, and I'm tempted by the food pics. Looks yum!

Such big Christmas trees in the shopping center, I've never seen it like that.
ReplyDeleteThe food looks delicious.
I wish you and all your loved ones happy holidays and a healthy 2022.
Greetings Irma
Thank you for showing me this
ReplyDeleteLove the Christmas tree photos. Mom went to James Bond Island back in the 1980's. I think she has photos like yours from there. She loved Thailand down by Phuket.
ReplyDeleteI am so amazed especially by the rare images! I appreciate a lot that you shared them to us.
ReplyDeleteThe others are awesome. Full of bright , colors and smells!
You are gifted in such presentations!
Happy WW! Merry Christmas, Veronica! All the best in your world!
A wonderful collection of photos, once again, Veronica. Looks like son #2 had a delicious birthday celebration with all those crab treats! That Christmas tree is very large and apparently in a nearby mall. I like =d the poinsettia decorations on all of the trees. Hope the guy on the roof got the wire work done safely, although being on the roof hardly seemed safe. Sending best wishes to you and your family for a very happy holiday season and a better new year.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this outstanding post!
ReplyDeleteI'm sending you my warmest thoughts and best wishes for a wonderful Christmas. May peace, love, prosperity follow you always.

ReplyDeleteMery Christmas and happy new year
Before I forget, I wanted to thank you for coming to Marmelade Gypsy and leaving a lovely comment. I hope your holidays have been and continue to be lovely ones.
ReplyDeleteYou're a marvelous photographer and I loved each and every image, but my favorite was your Paris Brest. We made one of those a number of years ago -- great fun and so delicious. It brought back a lovely memory!
The mall Christmas tree is so festive and pretty. Love all the red - they look like red poinsettias. That dessert looks delicious. The girls said that the food in Paris is really good, and that's something they remember. Wow, I've never seen starfruit before, how interesting. I used to watch the James Bond movies all the time back in the day.
ReplyDeleteI hope the new year brings you much goodness. It's nice getting to know you this year in blog land.
