Yalipaz

OMG! I am totally enraptured by these retro-chic felt brooches handmade by full time Israeli artist Yali Paz-Gilboa. Her work is inspired mostly by the roaring twenties, the era when jazz music blossomed, the *flapper redefined modern womanhood, and Art Deco peaked.

*Flappers were a "new breed" of young Western women in the 1920s who wore short skirts, bobbed their hair, listened to jazz, and flaunted their disdain for what was then considered acceptable behavior. Flappers were seen as brash for wearing excessive makeup, drinking, treating sex in a casual manner, smoking, driving automobiles and otherwise flouting social and sexual norms.[1]
Flappers had their origins in the period of Liberalism, social and political turbulence and increased transatlantic cultural exchange that followed the end of World War I, as well as the export of American jazz culture to Europe.

Hi Veronica,I am finally back home where the heat is so bad that almost got you crazy! You posted splendid subjects as always and I am sorry I couldn't "come" to comment them in the right time! Anyway I adore the birds and the brooches(Emma's are my favourite) We had a beautiful holiday and then I spent few days in my parents house where I cleaned and aranged all the things I could(since my mum died I couldn't find the proper time to do this) I will post some photos taken in this vacation! I hope you are in good health and all your family is happy! Is good to come back as I missed you a lot! hugs!

So cool. I have a ridiculously large head, which makes it hard to find hats that fit.
