My mom used to drive a Morris Minor just like this one. I will always treasure the memories I have of her driving her blue Morris Minor and the good times we shared while riding in it. Mom bought it in the 60s and she drove it right into the noughties. It was her first and only car. She refused to get behind the wheel of any other car than her Morris Minor!
FROM THE TRAVEL ARCHIVES
The Grand-Place, Brussels 2019
many things hidden in tahh tree :)
ReplyDeleteDear Veronica, the Morris Minor really is a lovely vehicle - I love these classic cars. How great that your mother drove a car like this through all the decades. That also means that it was of good quality - and it's pretty too!
ReplyDeleteI also find the crocheted beetles, butterflies and caterpillars on the tree very cute - a delightful idea. The food looks extremely delicious and tempting - I really like the beautiful fish with the lemon slices - and also love your travel photo from the Grand-Place from 2019. I've never been to Brussels (only in other places in Belgium), but maybe I'll make it one day.
All the best from Austria and have a nice weekend
Traude

That sky looks so beautiful. Love Thai food!
ReplyDeleteMarvelous view of colours from your balcony! That old Morris Minor is really nice. I'd like to own a classic old car like that.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful picture of you was taken in that Brussels' square in 2019 ... easy to see you went there in Winter.
We also cook fishes with garlic, lemon and parsley (lemon instead of lime, as we don't have lime here).
Have a nice and sunny weekend, Veronica !
Happy Sunday, Veronica! ππ
ReplyDeleteA beautiful yarn-bombed tree! Your skywatch are very pretty too. Have a nice weekend, Veronica!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos and delicious food. Love the decorations on the tree! My first car in England was a 2nd hand one, very shabby, but I loved it, and used it intil I came to Germany in the 70s. Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteDearest Veronica,

Again I am dazzled. And hungry! That yarn-bombed tree is enchanting -- so much more clever and pretty than just wrapping in yarn.
ReplyDeleteThat's a fascinating yarn bombing. The ones I've seen have been when they fully cover the tree, but I like the critters better. Something to consider...
ReplyDeleteMe encanta la ultima foto. Muy bella y me dio hambre la cena tailandesa. Bello Γ‘rbol. Te mando un beso.

The old car is really very beautiful.
I wish you a good Sunday.

Why people feel the urge to stick all that crap on the tree is beyond my comprehension. It took all those years to grow, is clad in tough, beautiful bark and needs no adornment of human trivia.

ReplyDeleteYou look lovely in that Brussels image. I saw these trees with tiny shawls around them in Antalya, Turkey last year.
ReplyDeleteThe Thai food looks lip-smacking delish, all the stuff and love to stuff my face with. Lol!
And guess what I've always dreamt of a sunflower yellow Beetle. They do look quite similar don't they? I love the colour of this one. Is it the same as your Mum's?
