Just a gallimaufry of photos 📸
The weather has been getting increasingly erratic these days. It seems like every day the forecast changes—the heat is oppressively intense in the afternoon, and then it rains cats and dogs in the evening. And yet, there are individuals and groups who deny or dispute the scientific consensus on climate change..
Awe? Pride?

... when you just found out that a building you had passed by countless times is the second tallest in the world.
Nah, more like disapproval. I personally think that competing for the world's tallest building is an ego-driven endeavor. The money could be better spent on other pressing needs, such as healthcare, education, or social welfare. There is a running joke that playfully suggests that each time Malaysia changes
its Prime Minister, there is a new contender for the title of the
world's tallest building in the works or under construction.

Lunch—Nasi Goreng Pattaya Nasi Goreng in Malay translates as fried rice, and Pattaya is a city in Thailand. However, Nasi Goreng Pattaya is not a traditional Thai dish but a Malaysian creation.

Can you guess what this is?
The tradition of making these dumplings dates back more than 2000 years! |
Zongzi were traditionally eaten during the Dragon Boat Festival, but these days they have become popular as street food and are available throughout the year in many places.More about the festival here.

ReplyDeleteLovely and cute cookies, Veronica.
ReplyDeleteMany hugs.
Omelet rice looks just so gorgeous. The tallest buildings all have funky designs.
ReplyDeleteAku tersenyum melihat meme polar bear with tan nya..
ReplyDeleteMushroom terluhat segar dan subur
Rice dumpling kalau di tempatku disebut bacang dan isinya ada salted eggnya
lalu nasi goreng berselimut omelet telurnya terlihat tasty dan cocok untuk breakfast. Have a nice weekend Kak Veronica ^^
Love zongzi. Those that we bought here (the states) were not good. Mom's were the best, what can I say? Great looking cookies! Haven't tried the Pattaya Fried Rice. Any good?
ReplyDeleteBuenos memes hay que tomar conciencia antes que sea muy tarde. Me diste ganas de comer esa tortilla. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteLove the polar bear with a tan, sure did make me smile, still smiling.
ReplyDeleteThe photos are lovely.
So cute cookies, thanks for your sharing...
ReplyDeleteI have no idea where this obsession with having the tallest building originates. I was going to say, “Who cares?”, but evidently some do. The dumplings look fantastic. I wish I had one for my breakfast this morning!
ReplyDeletememe of bear makes me smile.....
ReplyDeletehave a nice weekend
great photos and yummy looking food!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great series of photos Sonjia.
ReplyDeleteThe food looks delicious again.
I don't understand why there are still people who deny climate change, you see it all around you, so many disasters have happened this summer throughout Europe, that is really not normal.
You are right there should not be built so high, give the money to other projects.
Greetings Irma
Beautiful photos and some delicious looking food. Happy Fall!
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about money could be spent on more important things than having a super tall building. The rice wrapped in an omelet looks yummy. The Fall cookies are cute! Happy Sunday, have a wonderful week!
FANTASTIC PHOTOS, AND YOU'RE RIGHT, SILLY PEOPLE.
ReplyDeleteah, those cookies caught my eye immediately, Veronica! so lovely to look at with all their detail. it'd be a shame to devour them. maybe just a little nibble?!
ReplyDeleteI read or saw someplace a thing about the world's tallest building. It seems that one can link a recession or depression to countries just after they achieve a tallest building. It's like they spend the money on the construction, and then the bottom falls out of their economies.
ReplyDeleteInteresting that all 5 are in Asia. We have had two solid days of only rain and another two in the forecast.
ReplyDeletewow been too long since i was last here. I enjoyed the post and I love fried rice - would love to try that dish you posted. My husband makes great fried rice and he makes enough for me to eat it for three days or four days. Your cookies are so cute. What a talent.
ReplyDeleteHello Sonjia you have posted beautiful pictures again and yes the omelet with rice in it does make a nice presentation to serve it like that. And I certainly wouldn't have guessed that zongzi (rice ball) photo. We don't know that here either. And it's time again for the mushrooms and they don't care about the climate. Many people keep denying that the climate is getting worse but it is as Irma wrote. And i like you cookies too. Rest photos also beautiful. Wish you happy new week.
ReplyDeleteHello Veronica,
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy seeing your travel photos. The food photos look great too, yummy fried rice. The cookies are so cute. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a wonderful week.
Have a wonderful day. Regome
ReplyDeletewhat a cute cookies.
ReplyDeleteLove the travel photos and the food of course LQQKS delicious I want some immediately LOL :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a ricetastic week 👍
Dearest Veronica,
ReplyDeleteCompliments for your cookie artistry! They look adorable—you are quite talented.
And the nasi goreng makes me mouth water. We always had it for breakfast while at a hotel in Indonesia. Also I've prepared it several times myself as we in The Netherlands have all the ingredients, spices, sauces from Conimex. Since we're no longer traveling through my birth country, that option is gone.
But always a pleasure to read your posts with class pictures.
Need to gain a lot from yesterday's weight of 41.5 kg!
Try my very best.
Hugs,
Mariette
Fried rice with omelet looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteLove the meme with the bear with tan.
London is always a beautiful city.
All the best.
I agree with you about the buildings, although sometimes I do see some very weird creative designs though.
ReplyDeleteThose cookies are adorable!
ReplyDeleteI would agree with you on the ego-driven endeavours. Well stated, my friend! As always, marvelous photos -- and those cookies have my mouth watering!
ReplyDeleteThe tallest building competition is foolish, but the skyscraper itself looks quite elegant.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a happy day!
Those cookies look totally professional!~ Interesting about the world's tallest buildings. I had no idea. I thought the US had the tallest building. Who knew? I Learned something. Cute Cartoon about the polar bear.
ReplyDeleteA delightful series of photos and interesting information. Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteDid you make those adorable cookies Veronica? The cartoons made me laugh. Yes. I agree that I don't see the fascination with having the tallest building in the world, especially when more people are working from home and office space is empty.
ReplyDeleteNasi goreng pataya, looks like delicious
ReplyDeleteWell, you're omelete looks scrumptious!!! YUM... I'm a breakfast person and if you say Omelete I'M THERE!!! hehehe~ Thank you for sharing! Have a great day! WOW! TALLEST BUILDING! I dunno... I hope nobody gets mad at your country (if you know what I mean) :(
ReplyDeleteWhen I look at those skyscrapers, then the picture of London I know which I prefer! I have no desire to be up in the clouds. The cookies look delicious.
ReplyDeleteI wondered what was inside the Nasi Goreng Pattaya. I'm glad you showed a photo of it opened up. That looks delicious to me. :)
ReplyDeleteThose are some good funnies and we love that tallest building. Very interesting look to it.
ReplyDelete...those cookies are works of art! Veronica, enjoy a wonderful day.
ReplyDeletehave a wonderful day
ReplyDeleteThe cartoons are scary though funny.
ReplyDeleteI came over for the food because I love your food. I also learned about the tallest buildings in the world. Way cool.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. ♥
The photos are lovely! Have a nice day, Veronica!
ReplyDeleteI always marvel at architectural feats like super tall buildings or unusual designs yet can not deny that your point is valid-- that money sure could be better spent elsewhere. I'm not generally an egg fan but I think I'd love that fried rice wrapped in an omelet.
ReplyDeleteIt's true with this weather. Our September was as warm as in the middle of summer.
ReplyDeleteYour food always make my mouthwater!
ReplyDeleteThe fall-thened cookies are too cute!

I agree with you regarding the tall buildings. It's an absurd competition. But it's not the only one. If this word will be replaced by cooperation the world will look different. I am not sure exactly how is obtain the fried rice. I'll check.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images, Veronica!
Hugs and blessings! ❤️😘
mmm.. some of your photos look delicious but I don't think I would like to eat those mushrooms.
ReplyDeleteDear Veronica, I support your critical words - both regarding climate change and its deniers and in connection with the tallest buildings. Unfortunately, this senseless megalomania or boasting is not limited to Malaysia but is a worldwide phenomenon.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to wrap nasi goreng (which I love to eat) in an omelet - I would love to try that.
The sculpture of a zongzi is really EXTREMELY ugly. On the other hand the cookies with the bears (or are they lions?) and the pumpkins are really adorable.
All the best, Traude
