Gallimaufry#123

Just a gallimaufry of AI fails and thoughts ๐Ÿ“ธ

AI GONE WRONG!

After generating an AI image of a cat wearing a cone alongside his human, I decided to lose the cone.
"Remove cone", I typed. A seemingly straightforward task, right?

Haha! But as pixels rearranged and colors shifted, a curious twist emerged. The cone, once adorning the feline, vanished, only to reappear on the human counterpart!

Such is the delicate dance of AI-photography, where precision is paramount, and the choice of words holds immense power. It's not merely about issuing commands but crafting descriptions with the exactitude of a master wordsmith.

Another FAIL!

The above image resulted when I attempted to generate a photo of an Ikan Bakar street vendor as shared in my previous post. Notice the fish from another dimension in the upper right corner! Yikes!

And it looks like AI decided to go big or go home with that stingray! I mean, who needs a regular-sized fish when you can have a stingray that's practically the size of a coffee table?  Just imagine trying to fit that colossal creature on the grill! That poor man certainly needs a bigger spatula and a whole lot of courage.

In this realm, the right words unlock the door to possibility, guiding the AI to manifest the desired vision. Each description is a brushstroke, painting a picture in the digital canvas, and every word holds the potential to shape reality.

So, while the process may seem deceptively simple on the surface, the reality is far more nuanced. It's a journey of trial and error, where success hinges on the ability to navigate the complexities of language and imagination with accuracy.

Yet, within these challenges lies the allure of AI-photography. It's not just about creating images; it's about pushing the boundaries of what's possible, one carefully chosen word at a time.

TURKEY TAKEOVER ๐Ÿฆƒ๐Ÿ—

AI decided it's Thanksgiving in the kampong today! Haha! Thanksgiving is not a holiday celebrated in Malaysia!

Asked AI for an Eid al-Fitr celebration in a kampong(village) with chickens running around for authenticity. Got a Malay family in a kampong with a Thanksgiving spread instead! Looks like the turkeys are having a serious existential crisis this Eid-al-Fitr.

After numerous attempts, I finally nailed the perfect Eid al-Fitr image I had in mind! I decided to remove the chickens. No more turkey confusion!

The fun and frustrating part of AI-generated photography? It's not knowing what to expect! It's like a surprise party every time you hit that generate button. Will you get a masterpiece or a hilarious mishmash of pixels? The thrill lies in the unpredictability, keeping you on the edge of your seat as you eagerly await the next quirky creation. Who needs to a computer game when you have AI-generated images to keep you entertained!

NOT YOUR TYPICAL STREET FIGHT

When AI serves up this scene instead of the durian showdown I envisioned...

Finally, after a series of comedic attempts...

Ah, here it is! The durian melee! The curious scene that captivated my seven-year-old imagination, inspired by my aunt's vivid retelling of a street spectacle: two rival durian vendors locked in a battle, wielding the thorny fruits like weapons!

Lately, I've been really into using AI-generated photos because I am running out of real ones. Trying out AI-generated stuff has become a bit of a hobby for me. I enjoy how they look, and I've become pretty obsessed with them. Even though they're not real, these AI images give me something to blog about until I get more real photos. Meanwhile, indulge me, my dearest bloggy pallies!

Note - Every AI image you see here is a product of artificial intelligence, meticulously and painstakingly crafted through textual descriptions alone. No actual photographs were utilized or manipulated in the creation of these images.

  2. Oh well we win some and fail some. However, I'm amused at the first one, should did make me smile.
    Love AI.

  3. It's amazing what AI can create. Still I like your own photos better, Veronica. Many hugs!

  4. That first photo made me giggle! I have never tried playing around with AI images but I can see how it would be lots of fun.

  5. Dearest Veronica,
Yeah, the human wearing the cone instead of the kitty... What a sight!
The Thanksgiving in the kampong is also a mixture of nations and food.
That Durian fight as told by your aunt—wow, those are heavy, sharp and MEAN weapons. I'd rather enjoy their insides.
    Hugs,
    Mariette

  6. The first photo really makes you laugh.
I have never worked with AI and I don't think I will.

  8. I've played around with AI images a little bit and I find the results a little disturbing. Sometimes I wonder if they make the images like that so people will have a false sense of security about AI. My son's job coach uses AI to spruce up her clients resumes and I like the results. It takes the input resume and puts it in an attractive format and corrects the english and rewords some things to make it read better.
After I saw that I used AI as a first draft on some of my more wordy blog posts especially those that reference historical or other events. It gathers the information and puts out a decent post that I can modify as I like.

  9. I'd like to try those durian fruit sometime. Their outside is such a spiky texture. I am wondering if they are sweet? Interesting story your aunt told you when you were a young child about the durian vendors.

    Have a pleasant week.

  11. Your photos are fun, the first one really made me laugh. The fish was scary. But the last one is fantastic! Have fun playing! Hugs, Valerie

  12. These are funny and weird images that AI created for you. Not sure I feel comfortable yet with even exploring this too-new technology. I might sound paranoid, but we have to be so careful in the States NOT to seem biased in the "wrong" direction when we type anything into a Google search. Never thought I'd live to see the day . . .
    Blessings!

  13. Those are some pretty funny misfires. AI definitely needs some work when it comes to understanding us humans.

  15. That first image is hilarious. I am not in the least bit interested in playing with AI images. I find it all rather disturbing. There is so much everyday beauty in the world that I want to capture with my camera. I can see that you've had a lot of fun with the image manipulation, but I wonder how long that will last? Not being critical, just not really finding the appeal in AI images. Funnily, I published a little bit about AI today, too.

  16. I've never done anything with AI photography but I'm impressed with what you've done. I can see you never know what you are getting and sometimes it's a laugh!

  17. Some fun photos...the first one made me laugh.

  18. I'm yet to try AI, but I have to say, it does seem entertaining! As for the durian battle, the smell must have been awful!

  19. AI can be such fun as long as people don't pass it off "for real." I get a little concerned when I think about how "real" events (political especially comes to mind) can be manipulated to deceive. But what you are doing is just fun play with no intent to be dishonest and I love what you came up with. (You're very good at it!)

  20. Some of the shots are really comical. I am so curious about using AI for photos. How do you do it and is it free?

  21. Those durians are terrifying! If AI takes over it's going to be weird.

  24. I find the unpredictability of AI really amazing - it's a shame that AI isn't used for the more boring things so that we can leave the creative stuff to people who know what we want and have the skills to create it and actually nail it first time :) I think computers are better for boring things like numbers than the beautiful things like art and creativity :)

  28. Hello!
I also like working with AI and the many possibilities it offers us, I love the first photo, I think it's provocative and funny at the same time! So I'm waiting for new real photos, but I also loved these, I'm an AI fan!
I wish you a nice weekend!

  29. Sounds like you're a pro at wrangling AI into hilarious (and sometimes delicious) results.

  30. Hello Veronica.:=
I have never been the least bit interested in using A I , and I don't think I ever will. Having said that I appreciate the technology that went into making it, but I much prefer your own photos and your own creativity. You could go for a walk with your camera, and I'm sure you would find something of interest, you always do.:=)
    Hugs and best wishes

  31. Haha -- the cone!
Oh my! And the turkey displaced the lamb?

Oh yeah, this can be fun and frustrating but it looks like you've mostly been having fun. I had fun going through this post, too. I'm in for more of these, Veronica. :)

  32. Thanks for sharing these AI images, Veronica Lee, but as another person commented, I prefer to see your own. Hopefully, you will be including them soon again. I am not interested in trying AI generated images now, perhaps in future.

  34. Dear Veronica,
haha, you really get some fun surprises there! I like the picture with the woman wearing the cat cone! In general, I can understand that you are starting to see it as a hobby to use AI to express your ideas. And even though it's sometimes misunderstood, the result is usually FUN ;-D Can you tell me which program you use and whether it costs anything? Thank you also for answering my last question!
    All the best, Traude

  35. I feel quite sorry for the poor woman in the cone even though I understand she isn't real and even kind-of get how AI made the mistake. I admire you for learning to understand how to use AI and thank you for being honest in letting us know that these are not your "real" photos. That's what I'm worried about with the technology though, they look so real and believable.

  36. These are some truly hilarious and bizarre AI photos... Yikes! Definitely a weird and interesting way to edit photos!

  37. It's amazing really and I think you did a goos job the cone one made me LOL ๐Ÿ‘
Have a gallimaufrytastic week and thanks for your recent kind comments ๐Ÿ‘

  38. Oh wow it's wild how AI generates some prompts! The cone on the cat owner is hilarious as well as the durian people, but the sea creature with the teeth is terrifying!

  40. Heavens, that image of the marine life eating the stingray is frightening. The Malaysia family celebrating Thanksgiving is a little bizarre. So much for AI

  41. I guess it's fun to play with, and I do like the cat cone on the lady; but why does the real stuff not excite us anymore. I might as well not post my photos if I have to compete against made up ones. It was interesting reading your post.

  42. We haven't figured out how to do the AI thing yet and Mom isn't sure if she wants to or not. It is interesting but we also don't have time to spend to figure it out right now. You created some pretty good photos with it.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Whatever you can do with AI photography is nice but I don't use this at all. I am more for the personal self made photos. People also sometimes make poems with this program but I am not for that either. Small note what I had also written under my blog about the flap branch is that I miss a picture when you respond and again I didn't see one. Can't you put a picture there? Is a lot nicer when one responds than just not seeing anything. Wish you hereby a plasant day for each day. Greetings Tine from NL

  45. I was nodding in agreement and chuckling along! AI image creation can be a wild ride. It's crazy how something as simple as generating images can turn into a mix of frustration and laughter. Those silly and fun images definitely lighten the mood and add a playful twist to the process. Thanks for keeping it real and reminding us that even in the world of AI, there's always room for a good laugh!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Congrats on staying with the AI attempts even through the humorous failures. I am so old school it's ridiculous and I have no interest in trying anything with AI.

    ReplyDelete
  47. These are quite good, and you have a very active imagination! I worry about the future of photography (among other worries) when you no longer need a camera to generate an image, and you don't need to be outside for a beautiful sunset to capture a sunset.

  48. lol! the first one is really funny.

  49. I like your AI photos, the first and second are my favourites today. The Cat with woman a little bit more ;-)

So good to be back here and find your newly discovered passion for AI generated images. They sure are impeccable and fun, I must say.

  52. I see that you've perseviered with this subject. The images are very good for some books or science fiction movies. Seeing them, I may say that, even if they have in the background an huge amount of information, the way of using them has many defects, meaning the programes are far to be good...
Thank you for these examples, dear Veronica!
Happy WW and good start in May!
    Hugs and blessings, my friend!❤️๐Ÿ˜˜
