NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM OF METEORA AND MUSHROOM MUSEUM
You probably have seen the following photos as collages in Gallimaufry#100, but collages fall short in capturing the true splendor of these dioramas.
These stunning visuals, meticulously blending artistry and scientific accuracy, are crafted by skilled artisans and passionate naturalists. They deserve to be beheld in their full glory and shared in a dedicated post of their own.
What sets the museum apart isn't just the quality of exhibits but also the unique presentation.
Exhibits are showcased in dioramas replicating the natural habitats where these creatures thrive, such as forests or wetlands. The incorporation of mushrooms into the museum's dioramas and scenes is a captivating aspect that adds a unique touch to the exhibits. In these meticulously crafted displays, mushrooms seamlessly become
part of the natural terrain, enhancing the authenticity of the depiction.
What do you think?
Dearest Veronica,
ReplyDeleteWhat an excellent display at the Mushroom Museum!
The final image is the most used one for books, drawings and even for the ONLY mushroom emoji available 🍄 but it is a poisonous one!!!
Excellent photos you show us here.
Hugs,
Mariette
A museum for mushrooms? wow...never knew it exists..
ReplyDeleteThese are all stunning! We went to Meteora, but weren't aware of the Mushroom Museum. Pity! It would be amazing to see in person. Thanks for the tour!

ReplyDeleteyour very nice visit to the museum. Interesting exhibits, thank you for showing us these photos!
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings, Veronica!
“Mushrooms seamlessly become part of the terrain,” seems like a bit of an oxymoron. They ARE part of the terrain, they don’t have to BECOME part of the terrain.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing museum to visit with fabulous exhibits. TFS all the great photos.
ReplyDeleteThat is so interesting and creative! Glad you shared!
ReplyDeleteConcordo con te, le immagini sono molto belle.

Dear Veronica,
ReplyDeleteThank you for showing us the photos in all their glory, beauty and size. The museum seems to be really unique and the form of presentation is very artistic and special. This makes the mushrooms seem as interesting as they actually are - after all, mushrooms are very unusual creatures.
All the best 😊, Traude

ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful works of art! We have one local museum that has nature dioramas similar to these and we've often found that the longer we look, the more we see. The detailing tends to be really incredible.
ReplyDeleteThose dioramas are beautiful. I have never seen anything like it before.
ReplyDeleteAn absolute treat to see your photos. Amazing displays of murals and dioramas. Thanks so much for sharing :)

ReplyDeleteThank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. ♥
These are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if there is any special significance to the mushrooms other than that there are so many growing in that area.
You are right, these are great dioramas.
ReplyDeleteGracias Verónica. Me ha encantado ver esta exposición . Muchos hongo se ven en ella . Por Béjar se ven varias especies en otoño.. Los de la última foto son muy venenosos.

Un abrazo.
These are interesting and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThese are quite beautiful, Veronica Lee, and as another person mentioned very unique. I have seen dioramas in museums, but none like these displays.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your opening information that while these images were previously shown in collages, they deserved to be highlighted in a separate post. Certainly, the artists and naturalists worked together to create such beautiful images.
I love the presentation. Very well done. The moving mouse you put across the top of your blog is cute too. Is it new? LOL I've never seen it. :) Have a happy day!
