A unique twist to the traditional sushi.

Fun Fact
The most expensive sashimi ever sold cost $5,000 per pound!
Salmon sashimi

Sushi Zanmai chain owner Kiyoshi Kimura forked out $3.1 million for a 612-pound bluefin tuna (around $5,000 a pound) at a Tokyo fish auction. The fish was then divided into over 12,000 pieces and sold at his chain of restaurants.

  1. Hello dear!
I have two cats, but neither of them wants to go for walks with me like that :) I would eat sushi, these photos look delicious! Great photo, very inspiring post :)

  4. Love your photos, Veronica! I've never had sushi, and at those prices, I wouldn't even be tempted. Happy Birthday to your son!

  5. Dearest Veronica,
Wow, that kitty wearing her harness looks so cute. Only our 2nd kitty did walk on a leash like that. He was fun to take along and he also biked with us, sitting in his wicker basket and looking out and being happy.
Oh, that mango sushi must have tasted heavenly!
And what about the very expensive bluefin tuna for that much money!
    Hugs,
    Mariette

  11. Love this collection of photos. Hard to pick out a favorite. The flowers are beautiful, the food looks yummy (except I'm not sure I would enjoy mango in sushi), and the cat, birds, and monkey shots are great.

  14. Hello Veronica,
Wonderful captures of the monkey and the beautiful birds. The kitty is adorable. I love the pretty flowers. Your son's birthday dinner looks delicious, I hope he had a very happy birthday. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, enjoy your day and have a happy new week!

  15. A beautiful kitten, dear Veronica! Do you know Bob the street cat? My former cat Jeronimo also let me lead him on a leash or sat on my shoulder - unfortunately only until he was neutered... Again you show beautiful nature and food photos. I couldn't afford the most expensive sashimi (and I didn't want to, even if I could... I'd rather donate the money to the needy or to nature conservation.)
    Thanks for your lovely comments!
All the best and have a good time

  38. The monkey! We visited a place in France where some lemurs roamed on an island and you walked among them as well as another spot with macaques: they were a little more scary as one did not like this one lady getting too close to them. Always love pictures of flowers! They make me happy.

  45. Lovely cat. I used to call Flynn my shoulder cat. I can't eat sushi any more. I used to enjoy it until one day it had far too much wasabi in it which made me violently ill. I haven't been able to face any sushi since.

I'm wondering, are those sculptures? The Japanese dinner looks really good. Thanks for taking us along on your journey to different parts of where you live. I learn something every time I visit. : )

  57. Wow, i would love to walk through that park - beautiful birds. I wish, when I first got my cat as a kitten, that i had trained her on a leash. I try once in awhile and I can't get anywhere with her - i would have to drag her across the ground to get her to move. I see more and more photos of people with cats on leashes or in their back packs.
