Gallimaufry#27

Just a gallimaufry of bird photos ...

Barn owl (top) and Malay eagle-owl (bottom)
Fun fact
Barn owls 🦉 are used to control rat populations in Malaysian oil palm plantations.

  31. Owls are odd birds. Some of them are really beautiful and others are just plain creepy. We don't see many out in the wild around here.

  41. They're surely extraordinary. I got to hold one once years ago, and when it opened its wings I nearly fainted, lolol. Huge wing span and I had no idea at the time. :)

  42. Interesting bird photos. I've always wanted to see the Owl in person, but never have. That's good that the Barn Owl gets rid of the rat population. I do not like them. Looks like one Owl is missing a leg? Or possibly the other one is hiding. Your Owls look a bit different than ours here in California. Thanks for sharing.

Have a good rest of the week.

  44. Dear Veronica,
ghost bird is quite an appropriate name; In any case, they look a bit ghostly, also because they are mostly nocturnal. In any case, I like owls, they are really beautiful and useful birds!
Have a nice weekend and all the best
