Here We Go Again!

 Noooooooo!

Dang!

Unfortunately, we find ourselves at the start of another partial lockdown again due to a sudden resurgence of Covid-19 cases in my country.

Our government enforced the Targeted Enhanced Movement Control Order (TEMCO) in high-risk areas and my suburb is one of the hot spots.

This really sucks!

When will this nightmare ever end?

  1. Sadly I don't think its going to end Veronica unless we get an effective vaccine or herd immunity or enough people die (I know terrible, isn't it?) But I was reading about the Spanish flu which was a pandemic back in 1918 as you might be aware of. It took about 18 months I think to get it wiped out and they basically said it was because people became immune to it or died from it. Interestingly they were mandated to wear masks during that time too. Churches were closed for about 2 months in some areas. Businesses were not shut down in the United States because we were at war still with WW1 and President Wilson didn't want to shut down businesses because of the war effort. Interestingly, the first wave of it was mild but it was suspected to mutate due to soldiers coming home from war being in tight quarters on ships etc and the second wave was very hard with people literally dying at times within hours of getting sick. It was a fascinating read. Anyway, I think this virus will be around forever and it will be like getting a yearly flu shot (not sure you do that in your country) with us having to get an annual coronavirus shot. That's just my opinion, not based on any science which seems to be the new buzz word this year.

Sorry you guys are partially locked down again. Our numbers are going up a bit but they are being watched to see what the trend will be over the next 2 weeks. My step granddaughter returns to in person learning tomorrow. She'll be going 2 days a week, Monday/Thursday. There is also a Tuesday/Friday schedule. Wednesday is remote learning for all. The students/parents had the option of in person learning or still virtual learning. She opted for in person learning. She is a sophomore at 15 years old so her parents let her make the decision to return or not to return . Masks of course are mandated. She'll be taking the bus to school so I imagine one child per seat with every other row seating. I'll have to ask her when they come over for dinner tomorrow.

    Be safe!

  2. Hello, now very slowly, if you convert all of this, at least for us here, then it is put into perspective again.
I don't rack my brains anymore.
The funny thing is that there is no longer any flu, it's all Corona.
It is also interesting that the face mask is only of limited use, because the aerosols are always in the air.
If the FRG ends the pandemic, it will end the whole world and the economy will be down.
    All the best Eva

  3. I know, right? We have the odd case come up here and there but we are alot more fortunate than other places around the world. Stay safe there.

  4. I'm so sorry it's happening again.
There are not many cases in my city, but there are more in the county and some areas are in quarantine. One "interesting" thing: people in quarantine areas can go to work in another area, without quarantine! It's very ok, because people need money, but it just seems weird.
The mask is mandatory throughout the country, in closed public spaces, in open but crowded public spaces, and in some cities it is mandatory from the first step outside the house, which displeases more and more people.
A historian - I don't remember his name, I heard him on a French TV station - said that a pandemic ends when people say what's enough is enough.
All the best! Be safe! ❤️

  5. Right, and when Ms. Merkel says that it's all over, then it's over, unfortunately, it won't be. She will run again in the next election and the stupid Germans vote her too. Greetings Eva

  6. There is still uncertainty about the number of cases in Turkey...

  7. I think we are probably going to be dealing with this pandemic for at least another year, and a vaccine seems to be the only magic bullet. And even that is going to be difficult to administer when it is available, with its requirement for refrigeration and the fact that everyone will need two shots.

  8. I'm so sorry this is happening, but it appears it's cropping up here and there around the globe too.

Big healing hugs. Stay safe. ♥

  9. Well, it's all Donald Trump's fault, you know. Or at least that's what the media is all saying here in the states. So silly to blame one person for a world-wide pandemic...no matter your feelings on the guy.

It's discouraging, but I guess we expected it with the cold weather here and everyone being indoors again. We will just continue to be safe...avoiding others and going out much. Stay safe and SANE, dear friend. We will be "normal" again...someday.

  10. This is so frustrating. I'm sorry to hear this and unfortunately I think we'll soon be in the same boat as our numbers are rising.
Thanks for sharing, be safe, stay well.

  12. It's so disheartening, and the same here as well.

  13. Oh no, so sorry to hear! Stay safe.

  15. It's similar here in the UK too and agree it's a nightmare keep safe and try to keep smiling :-)

    Have a safetastic week 😷😷😷

  16. It's going to be some times before it's back to "normal" - I believe the old normal is gone. I can do most anything I want in my state but I don't. It's like an invasion and we have to continue to avoid the aliens who roam. Better safe than sorry.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Yes, I think we all expected it to surge again as predicted. Stay safe and hopefully it won't be a bad this time. But our new normal is staying home.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Oh dear... that does not sound good! It's bad with this unpredictable virus and I really hope that you and your family and friends will be spared!
    Stay safe.

  19. Oh no! I am so sorry to read you are locked down again. It is happening everywhere. Here in the US, cases are on the rise and there are (incredibly) still a lot of people who refuse to wear a mask so the disease spreads. Stay safe!

  20. This is so frustrating! When will this be over...

  21. So sorry! This must be very frustrating. Once there are a few fearful people in the government, all the regulations smell like fear.
It would be great to immerse yourself in prayer (or have a prayer watch with a few on-line for an extended period) to ask God to send his angels for help and do something about this.If you have questions about this, please LET ME KNOW!
You know lockdown may supposedly help in a physical way, in other ways it is not good at all. Depression, suicide, and addictions (drugs, alcoholism) go up immediately. The cloth masks are no prevention at all (they are of cloth. Your clothes are of cloth, they protect against the cold, but you still will get the flu virus, and the corona is a flu-like virus). Thank you for keeping us at All Seasons up to date! Jesh

  22. I'm so sorry this is happening again where you're at. The numbers have been rising here in Tennessee also, but we have never been in any kind of lockdown. It gets very discouraging.

    ReplyDelete
  23. At least you are taking it seriously.

Some in the US think putting a mask on infringes on their rights. They refuse to do it. Selfish if you ask me. I have a niece and nephew that have special needs. I don't need people like them getting COVID.

I can't believe, well yes I can believe how lazy the US is in dealing with COVID. We still have sports going on. What the?

  24. Oh no! I can’t imagine going through that pandemic again. What a terrible thing this is for the world.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Sorry to here that. In our town starting with yesterday we are obliged to wear the mask everywhere! :(
Take care of yourself and throw your fears!
All the best and Happy WW!

  26. Dear Veronica, we are all in almost the same situation. In Bucharest, the proportion of 3/1000 was exceeded. schools have closed, school is only done online, restaurants, cinemas, theaters have closed, and people have to wear masks everywhere except their own home. We have to be strong and endure, we will eventually overcome that as well.

    Be well!

  27. We're in the second wave with restrictions here. Stay safe and well.

  30. I'm so sorry you're going through this again! I hope you stay safe and mentally healthy too! I saw your link on the Tuesdays with a Twist link up.

  31. I can't imagine what you all are going through. I guess we just have to wait it out one way or another. :(

Many thanks for your link at 'My Corner of the World' this week !!

  32. Sorry you are in lockdown. We are in the second wave with restrictions. Masks and distancing.
Hope it ends soon. We are all in this together. xo

  33. the same seem to start up here. For the time being I think 2 cities. Hopefully it stays there.

  34. Try and stay safe Veronica. That's all you can do for now.

  35. It will take time.

A lot has to do with human behavior and sense of community living. We will pay for our carelessness or taken for granted attitude.

I too hope it ends soon and we are back to living without much worry.

Have a safe & healthy week ahead Veronica

  36. In Belgium too we have new restrictions it's not a complete lockdown like in spring, but all restaurants, bars, pubs are closed, you are allowed to invite 4 people. Do your shopping alone and of course keep distance of 1.50 m and wearing a mask ! There is also a curfew fom midnight till 6 am !
In short you can't go into the woods but not forget to take your picnic with you !

    ReplyDelete
  37. We have had a second wave here in Victoria too, seems to be happening the world over. Stay safe.

    ReplyDelete
  38. It must be so hard to live with changing restrictions. Makes me realize how lucky we are to live on an island at the bottom of the world. Stay safe, stay strong.

  39. I do think the nightmare will eventually end. Unfortunately with numbers continuing to go up around the world it looks like it will be later than sooner and there will be more deaths and repercussions.

But I honestly believe if people start to pull together it will end faster and we will be better people in the end.

  40. In Spain we are the same. thanks for you visit my photoblog.

  41. Best wishes ... hang in there and wear the mask. A. Big part of the problem here (USA) is the refusal of too many people to believe the science and doctors. Sadly our president is the worst. We could stop it if people were not given his terrible advice.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I think it is the very first time that the whole world is sitting in the same boat, I am living in Belgium on the other side of the world and it's even worse here ! I am so fed up !

  43. Take good care, hun. Going live in a few hours and I hope life is looking more cheery at your end. Looking forward to seeing you this #WW.
    Have missed you?

Hope you are well, darling. Sending you much, much love. <3

  44. Same here. I think because so many people have resisted following the restrictions, wearing masks, and just complain about the inconvenience and do not take it seriously. I have a bloggy pal in Australia where they were very strict, and people complied, and now they hardly have any cases anymore.
