This morning, after queuing for half an hour, I finally found a pharmacy that ended my quest.
The queue for masks.
Each customer is limited to only 1 packet which contains 5 pieces.
As of yesterday, three more Covid-19 cases have been identified in Malaysia, bringing the total number to 22.

I live in Canada. We have 2 confirmed cases in my region. Am I scared? Sure. Am I going to do anything about it, no. Sadly, most of the worlds' population is going to get it before it's over. It's going to be a case of whether it kills you or not. If it's my time to go, I hope I will be with God. For now, I leave it in His hands.
ReplyDeleteI'm concerned but not panicking (yet). Just trying to make sure to do great hygiene; lots more hand washing and also being careful where we are at. I don't think I'll be doing much traveling and no airplane travel any time soon.

I'm in a small town and have seen no one wearing a mask. I can't say what's happening in big cities.

ReplyDeleteWe, in the states, are not really panicking yet. Chinatown in Chicago is hurting for business--especially after the New Year when a lot of the residents there traveled home for the holiday. People just aren't taking chances here.
No masks yet....
We actually had two cases in our part of California, soon after the story broke about the virus. The couple were eventually transferred to a major hospital in San Francisco to be monitored. I haven't heard anything more about them. Take care out there.
ReplyDeleteHappy you got a supply, so you don't have to worry so much! Sorry you have to deal with it - I can imagine worry never completely leaves your mind. Here on the country side, there is minimal contact with people, and we don't have animals. Really hope that they will get control over this virus very soon! The "line" or cure gives an interesting image:) Much thanks for sharing this experience with All Seasons, and I wish a a worry-free week!

ReplyDeleteWell, in Romania we are still not very worried. However, in the big shops and in the hospitals there are people wearing masks, and in the pharmacies more masks are required.

Hoping that you can avoid it. They have brought the virus to our city hospitals (Pittsburgh, PA) to help work on a cure.
ReplyDeleteMy husband is more worried than I am. He talked about getting face masks, for the boys. On the news they said just wash your hands a lot, and keep your hands out of your face. I also live in the US, so not as many people have it here.

ReplyDeleteI did not buy any face masks because they only provide limited protection. Frequent hand washing would be more effective? But here, too, the masks in the pharmacies are sold out. Affected relatives send them home? At the moment in Germany, nobody wears a mask in public!
ReplyDeleteOther than washing my hands frequently there seems to be little else I can do. It's a bit of a wait and see game to see to what extent it spreads.

Wow! haven't seen long queue like this at pharmacy,normally it's for food!
ReplyDeleteyes, i'm concerned. two years ago i got the flu and was deathly ill. it took me two years to gain the weight back that i had lost. i am retired, so i am at home a lot, so that works in my favor. however, i do travel a lot too and that is where it where my concerns rise.

I would be freaking out over there and don't feel all that safe over here. There was a case of Coronavirus in one of the local hospitals, many suspected but unproven cases in another WI campus town and the two case in Chicago which isn't all that far away. Living in the state capital and a university town with a world class hospital has its downside.
ReplyDeleteThere are masks where I work out (just the paper kind) and I often pick one up for my mother who is 94 and who can get very sick from any virus let alone this one. It drives me nuts when people don't cover their mouths when they cough or wipe down fitness equipment when they're down using it.

I can certainly understand the concern in your little corner of the world. No one is wearing face masks in America that I've seen, although my husband, who works for a home improvement company, said they were completely sold out. I am concerned about the spread of the virus, but trying not to worry.

ReplyDeleteEvery year, quite a lot of people in the USA die from the flu and nobody panics. And some people still won’t even get the readily available vaccine. Viruses can be scary, whether new or the old familiar ones that cause influenza. I’m not in any panic...but am glad I don’t have any cruise travel planned!

ReplyDeleteIt is a big concern for all of us but we're not panicking here. Not yet! I guess it is mandatory that we all stay safe by keeping the hygiene in focus, wherever we are. I wouldn't wish to travel now but the husband has an overseas trip coming up and I'm a bit concerned to be honest. Pray this global health crisis gets over sooner than we think and that many more precious lives are saved. You take care, Veronica!

I am not sure you can get shoes repaired at all any more where I live. The local cobbler was a fixture when I was a boy.

ReplyDeleteI don't know that I'm scared per say. Just on alert. It doesn't help that it's allergy season. My throat is sore from all that outdoor stuff.
I am sad for my retirement plan. It keeps going down. Then Mica had a scheduled trip to Chicago, for school that got cancelled. That's kind of a mess. We have to wait 4-6 weeks to get our money back. Plus he won't get the experience.
