gallimaufry
/ˌɡalɪˈmɔːfri/
noun
  1. a confused jumble or medley of things.

And that is exactly what you'll find here  a gallimaufry of unused photos from my phone.

A bird I spotted in my garden

Soft shell crab sushi

Pink Mexican petunia

A stray kitty

Sunset from my balcony

A stall selling steamed peanuts

Choy Sum — literally translates as "heart of the vegetable"

Lotus root

A bug with big ass feelers.  Eeeek!

Allamanda

  5. It's a nice mix, dear Veronica! Only the "bug with big ass feelers" was unpleasant ;-) Oh, and why are there cigarette filters on the ground in your garden (next to the white pigeon)? They're dangerous - they're made of plastic (cellulose acetate) and many toxins that poison the earth and groundwater. (According to the WHO, they contain up to 7,000 different chemicals, many of which are toxic to the environment and at least 50 are carcinogenic.) Animals can mistake cigarette butts for food and die on it ... I hope you can remove the butts and won't find any more in the future in your garden! And I hope your lockdown doesn't last too long and that the contagion numbers will drop again soon!
    Hugs from Austria,
    Traude

  6. I like your assortment of pictures Veronica. The flowers are so pretty! I wouldn't want to see that bug in person lol. Sorry you guys are locked down again. Here it seems like life is returning to normal. Even heard in the fall our local college will have 100% occupancy for watching sporting events.
    Hang in there!

  23. Super interesting insect, and that cat looks almost worn out by life. Steamed peanuts? Are those like roasted peanuts? I tried boiled peanuts once, as they seem to be popular in the south for reasons that escape me. Mine landed in the bottom of a garbage can after I tasted on :) Love all your phone photos.

  36. So lovely except, of course, the creepy bug. So many bugs in the warmer months.

  37. The photos are just excellent. I am not a fan of bugs, they seem to be everywhere when the weather is so warm.

  38. Terrific shots! You do get photos of interesting things!
I never see anything that exciting on my phone. (Right now it has at least 6 shots of my finger).

  40. Wow, there's a word for that, too! The things I learn!
Loving the photos. I've seen a bug like that in my garden and found it was a 'Texas longhorn beetle' variety.

I'm happy you chose to share your link at 'My Corner of the World' this week!
