Missing The Beach

Last night, I was at the beach.

I could breathe in that balmy, salty air.

My feet sank and squished into the warm, wet sand at the edge of the waves.

I never felt more serene and peaceful...

But alas, I woke up from that vivid dream and sadly realized that we're still under the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO). The ban on interstate travel has not been lifted.

We have been under partial lockdown since March 18th.

My nearest weekend beach is just an hour's drive away but it is in another state.

It will be some time before I can hear the soothing sound of waves again.

  1. Such a beautiful beach! Hope you get there soon. We are locked down again with a curfew following the riots here. Each day brings new adventures lol! Stay safe!

  4. Beautiful post. I miss the beach too. The beach is about two hours away from me, and it's also in another state. My state has started phase 1 of reopening, but there's a lot of fear about going out at the moment. Plus, there are some riots going on too.

  5. You can't travel on the interstate? Our freeways a clogged with traffic. I'm with you though. Going to the beach would be fabulous.

Have a terrific day and week. ♥

  6. A trip to the beach sounds nice.. ours is just 30 mins away. But we have a lot of rules in place and it is warming up but isn't hot enough to hit the waters just yet.. maybe sometime later this month.

  7. We just returned from a short trip to the beach! It's so peaceful listening to the waves. Hopefully you will be able to take a trip soon.

  8. it's beautiful. i am a lover of the beach and feel the same way about it. here in florida we are able to go, but so many people are not being safe, i don't venture out much. we did make a trip out to the beach before they lifted the stay at home order (i had to have my fix) and it was so quiet and peaceful i loved it. now...i'm staying away and hanging by the pool to get my water fix

  9. You can be at the beach when you meditate. It will help lift your spirits. I have been doing that and a lot of yoga to keep sane these days. There is all sort of crap going on in the states on top of Covid. It's not good...and it is very hard to keep positive with so much hate spewing in all directions.

    Stay tough, pally!

  12. I hope you will get back to that beach soon Veronica. There's nothing like a drop of sea air - just a mile away for us.

  15. We have local beaches and parks, but we haven't been to any in order to stay away from crowded places. I find that I dream about the pandemic and lockdown every night now. Last night I was walking in a crowd and couldn't get away. Must be watching too much news, so we have stopped daytime TV. - Margy

  16. Oh no! When I read the beginning of this post, I thought you actually got to go to the beach. I think it will be a while before we get to the beach. The closest one is 3 hours away - not great for a day trip. I hope you get to visit the beach soon!

  17. Be Still -I thought of that yesterday, when Jesus said it to calm the storm! Sorry, you have to wait a little longer to hear and save the waves:) Rather than focusing on the negative (and there's a lot of that in this situation) take up you warrior gear and actively pray for this (especially "fear" and "blindness to "new possibilities") to stop!!Because God is bigger:)

  20. Just like you, I also dreamed of going to the beach because I really wanted to play the waves at the beach ... hopefully in the near future. Greetings from Indonesia.

  22. I'm sorry it was just a dream. It will eventually become a reality.
Behold, I give you in return the sound and the image of the waves of the Aegean Sea, as I recorded them three years ago. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3A5H3paPvI4

    Have a great day!

  23. I missed the sea also!
The beach is like a huge charger with life. So I still do not understand
why they decided to close this healthy places...
All the best and a Happy WW!

  26. A very big YAS to this Veronica! As an Island boy, I've longed for the beach for a long time! I know I've been born on the city miles away from the beaches but being a Filipino, our hearts were born with the ocean on its side! Wish we can all see the beach again soon when all is safe!

Love the scripture. The Lord is our God and He is bigger than any virus or war or superpower country!

  32. Hello,
I am missing the beach too...
I can just get some consolation when I go to lake Garda, which is quite big and there are mostly stony beaches.
    But the seaside is different.
    All the best!

  33. I miss the beach, too. Ours is open now, but the reason I'm avoiding it is the opposite of yours...I can, but I won't as too many people are gathering there.

  34. We went to the beach last week and it was just what we needed. I love this scripture!
