Year Of The Rat

Grrr!!! One more "doong doong doong chiang, doong doong doong chiang. doong chiang doong chiang" and I will go bonkers! My ears are blasted with loud, jaunty Chinese New Year music everywhere I go!!

Just when you think that the new year festivities are over and routine is finally restored, the Chinese New Year is just a week away! That means another round of preparations and 15 days of continuous feasting and festivities!

2020 is the Year Of The Rat.

Good news for those of us who have had a bad start to 2020 – you get a second chance for a do over!

Let's hope that The Year Of The Rat is a wonderful year ahead for all!

Happy Chinese New Year, pallies!

  5. Happy New Year! It’s hard for me to believe it would be a good thing to be born in a Year of The Rat! Are there good things associated with that sign? P

  9. We don't have a Chinese community near us so Chinese New Year will pass without us noticing. Like you say, one New Year a year is enough.

  15. Since my son worked at one time in China, I know what a big deal New year is! What are the important mile stones (or characteristics) in this year, do you know? Oh, and I also learned that red is a positive color, not one of alarm like in the Western world. You gave us a great image! Many thanks for sharing your new Year with All Seasons, and have a grand first week.

  34. We spent a wonderful Chinese New Year in Hawaii, not even aware that it coincided with our visit to a relative there. Such a festive event! The next morning you could cut the air with a knife, there was so much smoke from the fireworks.

  35. Beautiful bright and colourful! I remember the celebrations that they would hold when we lived in Manchester especially during the Chinese New Year. And who doesn;t love a second chance. I certainly would, if I had one.

  38. Hello Sweetheart,

    Gong Xi Fa Cai!

My older poppet informed me the other day, that it was the Year of the Rat. And I'm a Rat from the Chinese Zodiac. I'm kinda chuffed, as I'm hoping it's going to be a good year for me. Even the younger poppet is a Rat. :)

Can imagine those irritating jingle-jangles. Experienced a whole big bunch of that when we lived in Singapore. The red and golden colours would get to me, but then the spirit was infectious, as were the happy vibes of celebration.

May your Year of the Rat be truly blessed.

Lots of love and hugs xoxo
