Oh no. We had a road that was unfinished and one never build near our house growing up, but for some reason they were still listed on all town maps. For years people would ask where they could find X road and my father would point to the trees and the brook and say there.
I can only imagine how much fun it must be now with GPS since I don't think they ever got removed from the town maps.
