My First Eyebrow Threading Experience

I was having my hair cut when one of the shampoo girls asked if I wanted my eyebrows threaded for a mere RM10.00 (USD2),  Having spent the past 30 years of my life tweezing my eyebrows in a poor attempt to achieve some semblance of brow maintenance, I was glad for an alternative. Eyebrow threading is an ancient Indian practice rumoured to be as equally effective as tweezing, but quicker, and possibly less painful.

I was amazed at the result. There certainly is a difference. My sons said my brows now don't look like Susan Boyle's (before her makeover) anymore! Yep, they are looking neater and subtly arched.
The whole procedure did hurt just a bit and it made my eyes water. But the process was quick (about 8 minutes) and well worth the minimal pain.

I am now a convert!

A  video from YouTube to share.

Have you tried eyebrow threading?  If you haven't, would you?

  2. I used to have this done all the time when I lived in Turkey. I haven't done it in the 20 years that I've been back in the US. I think I'll try it next time instead of waxing! Thanks for sharing your experience. :)

  3. I shamefully admit I have NEVER had my brows professionally done! I never cared much about it and just trim them and pluck the random hairs that are out of place. There is a place that does threading in the mall here, and I've been curious about it. Maybe one day I will give it a go.

  4. I haven't had it done. I heard it's great though. Sign me up. I don't know if places around here do that. My son Mica has the worst uni-brow. I always want to pluck his in the middle.

  5. I tried it myself, but I would never attempt my own eyebrows! It was difficult for me to get the hang of, so I went back to plucking. I would love to have it professionally done if they offered it here.

  7. I don't have to pluck my eyebrows anymore. Seems they don't grow anymore...isn't that weird? I've seen this done, and it looks a ton less painful than wax or plucking.

  9. I've always wanted to try eyebrow threading. My daughter learned how to do it and does it on herself, but I still use a tweezer. May have to try this method.
