Annie Peaker

Inspired by her love for African culture, UK ceramicist Annie Peaker captures the beauty of African women in ceramic sculptures.

Some of her figures are slightly elongated to emphasise the grace and elegance of the African female form.

Love the big dancing mammas - so full of character and humour

  1. These are great. I like the slightly elongated look on the first ones, it adds to the elegance.

  2. Lovely. You can really appreciate the details..especially the folds in the fabric. I love how the people are elongated and exaggerated, but the animals and other items are perfect. Very lovely indeed.

  5. I LOVE these! the fat mamas are so real, the tall beauties are so graceful. I laughed at the ones with fish balanced on their heads. Really nice.

  9. These sculptures are gorgeous. They remind me of a piece that I saw years ago in a little shop in Saugatuck, MI. It was a terracotta planter with beautiful flowers in in the form of long necked African women with mouths open in song.
I deeply regret not making that purchase.

  10. I’ve been looking for queen/plus sized figures of men and women. These are so pretty! Want them so badly😁❤️

  11. These are lovely, but the full figured women look as if they're on there knees rather than standing, to me.
