Josh's First Violin Recital

At the end of every month, the kids at Josh's violin class are encouraged to give a recital together with the students from other music schools. I gave Josh my word that I will not share any videos of him performing until he can handle a 'real' song. He was kinda embarrassed 'cos he could only fiddle baby songs as he started taking lessons only 2 months ago.

Here are the photos to share.

  3. That is awesome! Great job Josh! I love music and am thankful that our children have those musical genes...even if I somehow am short in that department! It looks like their violin instructor enjoys teaching and in the photo looks happy to be there with his many students. (I think that is very important).

    Blessings & Aloha!

  9. How fantastic! Congratulations to Josh! I love when kids show interest in playing an instrument. Music (and playing it!) has just so many positive aspects to it. It really helps children and their development and self-esteem, whether they continue into adulthood or not. I'm so glad you're supporting him in this, Veronica! Yay!

  18. All three of my children learned string instruments: violin, double bass and cello. My oldest did so well! Just this past weekend, my youngest took out his cello and played for his nephew. Music instruction really adds a whole new dimension to life and learning. It also developes the Left side of the brain.

  20. Our three kids studied music thru the Suzuki method. The oldest excelled on violin and played all the way to university. Our daughter switched from violin to string bass and got into the high school orchestra. Our youngest played cello. He was the most gifted musically, but also the least motivated to work at it. His efforts petered out around grade five. He still has the best singing voice and an eclectic appreciation for music of all genres.
