Cinemagraphs

Cinemagraph - "Something more than a photo but less than a video" as described by fashion photographer Jamie Beck and her partner Kevin Burg.

Cinemagraphs look like still pics except for a featured area of movement. They're kinda creepy but totally captivating.

Enjoy these cinemagraphs but do be patient! They take a while to load!
In one shot of a crowded square, bodies are frozen in time, but one man quietly turns the pages of his newspaper.
Who wants to lick the spoon?
Haircut, anyone?
Can you smell them?
Unnerving, isn't it?
In this pic, the restaurant terrace is brought to life by the reflection of a taxi going past in the window.
Cheers!

  1. I love the cinemagraphs! I do agree though, they're a tad on the creepy side. For instance, the first is, as you said, captivating... but the "eye" shot and the "newspaper" ones are a little strange.

Anyhow, thanks for participating in my Sundae hop, and so you know, I'm newly following via GFC!

  8. I love the first one--for some reason, they seem like something out of a Harry Potter movie, where the people in photos and portraits sometimes interact with the viewer!
