Peter Gibson aka Roadsworth

Canadian artist Peter Gibson a.k.a Roadsworth began transforming the streets of Montreal with stencil graffiti in 2001. In the fall of 2004, Roadsworth was arrested for his nocturnal activities and charged with 53 counts of mischief that sparked a debate on whether this was art or vandalism. All the charges were dropped. His only punishment was a minor fine and 40 hours of community work – ironically, a public art commission.

  1. It's definitely art. It in no way defaces property or claims ownership. Graffiti artists often tag to claim ownership and not so much the artistic value. He does good work. The shoelaces are cute!

  14. Wow! I'm a graphic designer so I can appreciate this as "art." Very clever the way his symbols tie in with the road. Keep finding cool things:)
