Back To The Start

This is so hauntingly beautiful, I had to share it.

The film, by film-maker Johnny Kelly, depicts the life of a farmer as he slowly turns his family farm into an industrial animal factory before seeing the errors of his ways and opting for a more sustainable future. Both the film and the soundtrack were commissioned by Chipotle to emphasize the importance of developing a sustainable food system.

Beautiful in every sense of the word.

So I guess it all boils down to making a choice of either paying the farmer (for the more expensive naturally-raised meat) or the doctor.

  1. Such an important message!!!! I really really really loved this. Chipotle though? Isn't that owned by McDonald's? Just wondering. Ok, now I'm curious...I'm going to do some research...I'll get back to you. :)

  2. WOW! That is an amazing little film! I heart Chipotle so much I am not a meat eater but my husband is. We only buy from organic/sustainable/local farms for food! You are so right, either pay a little extra for food now or pay the doctor much more after! I am so sharing this! Thank you!

  8. I'm going back to the start! I wish more and more food producers in our world would rethink the way the go about handling our food. I wish we, as consumers, would rethink the way we consume! Very touching movie - and makes me think!
