Craig Sonnenfeld - Money Origami

Dollar bill origami, also known as money origami, is just as the name suggests. It's origami using dollar bills instead of paper.
Handing someone cold hard cash as a gift may seem a little crass and money origami may just be the perfect solution. For a housewarming gift, fold a fish for good luck. If someone is graduating, fold them a shirt or a bowtie! Leave a tip that leaves an impression. Delight that waitress with a dollar bill puppy ! The possibilities are endless!

Enjoy these creations by Craig Sonnenfeld aka Craigfoldsfive on flickr.

  12. I am supposed to be cleaning and picking up my art, sewing, quilting stuff!!! Our daughter is bringing her boyfriend down to meet us... but just wanted to stop by and say hello...and I love the money origami :o) I learned how to do the folded crane when I was in 3rd grade when we were stationed in Japan I still have my origami book in Japanese that was given as a gift when we moved there.(yikes! that may be about 40 years old!!)

...And our son loved origami when he was growing up...even made a school project tutorial and fact site about origami.

A few summers ago, when he was home from college, we both made that koi fish! haha...I still have them. We followed an on line tutorial and they turned out just like that one you have...so cool that the circle designs look like the eyes! I know how to make the shirt, but not with a bow tie. how fun!
I love those ones you shared!

One last funny thing...I almost always make a simple money origami with one of the bills in our tip for the waiter or waitress when we go out. :o)

    Blessings & Aloha!
