Aloha Friday

My question is "What do you lie about to your spouse?""

Occasionally, I downplay the amount spent on shopping sprees.
What about you? Come on, 'fess up and get it off your chest!!

According to a survey, almost a quarter of us are 'closet shoppers' who take up to 25 per cent off the price tag of purchases when telling our other half.

  1. OOooh Veronica! Me too! we are in the same boat! LOL! Though, I also have to lie sometimes about how long I'm out shopping too... :-)

  2. Hmmm, that's a hard one. My husband knows me too well so he can always tell if I'm lying. Therefore, it's pointless for me to try to do it because that just leads to other problems. But yeah, the last thing I fibbed about to him was probably downplaying the cost of something like a toy my daughters didn't need or how much my haircut was!

    Following you from MBC...

  3. I am like "The girl with the flour in her hair", I go for the cheap items, too. What I lied about is always the "time" I am spending on something.

  4. I can't lie to him. I can't lie period. I stink at it. I give myself away every single time. I don't even bother anymore. I'm so sadly stuck with the truth.

  5. I am like Blueviolet-I can't tell a lie. It feels as if my eye is twitching, but it's not. I don't "lie", I just don't offer information about particular purchases unless asked, and my husband doesn't notice until way after the fact. But the thing is, I really don't need to do this since we both work, and neither of us gets on the others' case about purchases.

  6. The only time i really can lie (and i don't do it very well) is when I'm trying to keep a surprise from getting out... so like i'll leave work 15 mins early, but not call hubby until i'm "leaving work" (15 mins later) because i needed to pick up a bday gift or something.

it blew up in my face once... "that will be $25.95" -- "where are you??" :O

  7. Oh my gosh, my husband knows me way too well if I even try to lie!! Plus, that is one of his pet peeves, in general.

But, I know I have "altered" the time I have gone to bed because I was on the computer...LOL!

  9. I can't lie to Boo because he totally trusts that I am honest with him and he will be honest with me. Our relationship is built on trust so even if I did try to lie, I'd be caught just out of a sense of guilt.

  12. Great question...

Not exactly a lie but I often will quickly switch the channel on the TV when he walks in the room if I'm watching something I'd be embarrassed about...like reality shows...
